HI. I was wondering if foods that are marinated in olive oil are really that much more in fat/calories . For example...artichoke hearts, sundried tomatos, olives, roasted peppers...so on. If i do a search for the calories in them...I come up with something like 5-10 calories per piece. But that seems too low if it is marinated in oil..right?? Anyone have any input??
thanks

I don't know about this, but just compared sardines packed in water vs. oil and was surprised at the little difference.

Being a hippy-dippy, tree-hugging vegetarian, I eat several different kinds of tofu (yes, life can be interesting, if you really try!).
The plain variety has about 1 calorie per gram.
The marinaded type (in vegetable oil and spices) has about 2.5 calories per gram.
When you eat 100 grams, that makes some difference.
Moral: don't trust marinaded tofu.
