I have recently seen in tv ads a product called QuickSlim, especially for rapid weight loss for women. Has anyone else seen this or actually tried it? The lady in the ad is an editor of a prominent magazine and she claims to have lost 34 lbs. in 8 weeks. Would be interested in hearing from people on this.

What's important is keeping the weight off. I'm curious what you do after you lose the weight.

Apparently there is a diet plan to follow and they want you to exercise as well. I'm not sure what the capsules do - maybe boost your metabolism or something? Is that even possible with a pill??? I hate to pay more money for diet aids than I already have in my lifetime but was just wondering if anyone had any success with this product. I'm not looking for a quick fix - I started a weight loss program on Monday but I find it hard to stay motivated for long and always feel hungry even though it might be all psycological - if the food is here and I know it, I feel that I need to eat. The holidays were extremely hard with all the sweets and candy around and I feel like I'm having sugar withdrawal right now! I am new to this forum and enjoy reading all the posts.

I appreciate that this topic is QuickSlim, but my general comments on diet pills are here:

http://www.thelegacywebsite.com/faqs_pills.html

I don't see any point in them for myself. If they help you lose weight, that's great. But you still have to learn to eat well to keep it off... so what's the point? If you eat well, it will come off on its own.

However, a close friend loves diet pills (any kind). He says that when he diets he gets a boost from them... even if it's only mental.

Of course he's never learned to eat well so he's always dieting.

My conclusion is that you should do what's best for you -- and safe -- but if you do use pills be sure you're learning to eat well, too.

Thank you very much Peter. I appreciate your comments. I have decided to forego the QuickSlim. I am eating healthier anyway so that is the best thing to do in the long run. I also went to the web site in your reply - very interesting and some very good points. Losing the weight has never been my problem - it's keeping it off that is the battle. And I know what I have to do to be successful in that - it's just a matter of doing it. Good luck to everyone no matter what plan they are on.

See some other posts on these forums about eating 5 or 6 times a day.   It boosts the metabolism and makes you less likely to be hungry.

When I discovered this shed weight off me, I knew I'd found the way to stay lean for the rest of my life (coupled with sensible exercise and resistance training, of course).

If you want willpower, write down your body shaping aims and read them to yourself several times a day.   It's supposed to stop your unconscious efforts at undermining yourself.

And good luck.

Terii,

I am suspicious of any diet pill website... figuring that they are just trying to sell pills.

In this case, if you read to the end of the "review" you will see it was written by the manufacturer. I would call that an advertisement.

I am a mother of 2 adorable girls ages 6 and 21 months and am here to be more motivated to be active and fit. Ragarding diet pills. I am taking green tea pills that do help but u have to exsercize and also eat right. I guess it depends on the individual and what works well for you. Keeping the weight off is another story. Just got to make eating and exsersize a permanent part of your life. Good luck to all
