[size=I use to be in really good shape and went to the gym 3-4x a week and ate well and everything. That was only 6 months ago. Then my parents moved (and that is where I live), so I ended up goin along. My gym membership was at a community center, so I no longer had a gym to go to. And with the the downsize of 3 fridges in the old house to just 1 now... we simply don't have room for everyone's food. The rest of my family eats bad food constantly. I mean, it could be worse, but it isn't helping. I've gained over 20lbs since I moved 5months ago. In fact, I no longer fit into any of the jeans I own. They are all a 30inch waist and I am now closer to a 34. I cannot afford a whole new wardrobe. My goal here is to lose 15lbs in the next 2wks.

I looked up a bunch of diet plans on quick weight loss and the most interesting seemed to be the Sacred Heart Medical Diet. According to myth (or rumor), it was devised for obese patients to lose as much weight as possible a week before surgery.

You can read about the diet at http://www.idiet4u.com/diets/sacredheart.html , but basically it involves a super low-calorie soup. The diet lasts 7 days and tells you what to eat each day. And the soup is the filler. Whenever you feel hungry, you eat the soup to try and avoid the feeling of hunger. Besides losing weight, it's affectively a detox diet, removing impurities and making you feel much better and energetic.

The reviews look good online; lots of people claim losing atleast 10lbs in just a week. I'm curious and am going to begin the diet tomorrow. So I'm going to use this thread to first introduce the diet (as I have now) and now I'll update and let you know how it is going. It's kind of an experiment to confirm how well it really works.]

Losing 10-15 pounds in a week can be done quite easily if you are just starting a diet.  Its called water weight and its the kind that comes off quickly and easily.  But it doesn't do much at all for your looks, it only works for 1-2 weeks, and as soon as you stop the diet you gain it all back.  It happens with almost every diet.  This Sacred Heart Diet is nothing special.

Ok, so you have gained all this weight since you have moved. You eat bad now and you don't exercise as much.

So, not trying to sound mean, but the answer is right in front of your face. You just need to find a way to exercise and eat right.

The exercise is easy! Start walking or jogging, those can be done in place, don't even have to go anywhere. Exercise tapes, find them at the local thrift shops, if money is an issue. etc, I can go on for days about exercise.

My point is, that you don't need a special diet, you just need to do what you were doing before, just in a different way.

Can't afford a gym or there isn't one close by, then do something else for exercise.

As far as the food goes, since you live with others that probably do the shopping, just try an explain that is cheaper buying healthy foods for you, than it is to buy you more cloths.

I know, I sound harsh, but that is just how I see it..

Good Luck to you....I hope you find a way..

i keep reading that people use gyms and when they go away and lose that option it is as if the exercise has to go away too? what happened to life Before a gym or the trainers or the videos? how did we exercise as kids? we rode our bikes, we ran everywhere, we played and went outside whenever we could. Have we forgotten how easy it is to exercise? Obviously you live with a large family who wants to poison their bodies with junk, if you eat it too, eat enough to fill your tummy then walk away. if you must have that extra fridge, save up money and get a small one for your bedroom to store the healthy food you like. I am hearing excuses and denial as to how you got to this point. Please dont discount a move to cause weight gain, whether its stress, leaving friends, changing schools etc...what ever it is, could be part of it. Your life just took a turn and you have to work it to your advantage. Walking is an excellent sourse of exercise and its free, all you have to do is make the time. You could maybe talk to your parents about your concerns, surely they see your jeans popping at the waist? budgets are hard to work, but you can make small changes and you surely dont have to eat all the things they buy. There is alot to your story I am sure, and plenty of space to write about it. I would not go for a quick fix. They are often the worst way to go, because as all are telling you, the weight didnt get there overnite and it wont go away overnite. Somehow you gained it and now you must work doubly hard to lose it. that is the way it goes unfortunately, the price we pay for what we put into our mouths. You will have to invest undoubtebly in the saints diet, surely the food to prepare it will be costly, so consider that when you decide to go that route....talk that money up to the parents and see if they will help with your diet. No parent wants to see their child getting larger esp in a short time.

I would advise you get back into the exercising, even if only to do push ups, jumping jacks, jogging in place, walking an hour a day at a hefty fast pace that causes your conversation to be difficult but not impossible.....be creative, you dont need  a gym to be in shape again.......

Good Luck!:apple:
