There is a common mistake among people is that whenever we talked about the treatment of overweight or obesity what we get first in or mind is a drug treatment .
In fact, medically it isn't recommended to use these drugs as a first step in treatment, even in advanced stages of treatment, medicines are not used alone but used within a full diet program to reduce weight.
1.What is the recommended medical methods to lose weight before starting drug treatment?
The patient must follow a particular diet as eating food with few calories, and eating foods containing a small amount of fat, the second method is to exercise, and the last method is changing the habits and the pattern of life in individual lifestyle.
The ideal method of treatment is a combination of the three methods at the same time.
If these methods have not succeeded in losing weight may then resort to treatment with drugs to stop the use of other medical techniques already mentioned.
2.What are drugs that are scientifically advised and can be used to reduce weight?
These medicines can be divided into two main groups:
The first group, which depends on the appetite and discourage greater sense of satiety and the examples for these are (Sibutramina) or (Reductil).
The second group depends on the prevention of fat absorption from the digestive system and the examples are (Orlistat) or (Xenical)
For medicine (Reductil) Studies have shown that patients who use this drug can maintain the weight for two years equivalent to 10% less than their weight before treatment, when used in addition to other methods of weight loss.
The (Xenical): Studies have shown it could reduce weight to less than 5-10% of the weight before treatment.
It is a good drug and has few side effects but must be used under medical supervision for a period not exceeding three months.
3.Are there any health risks may result from the use of these medicines?
The answer is definitely yes. The medicine (Reductil), although effective, it could cause a rise in blood pressure, rapid heart rate, so it does not recommend its use for patients with high blood pressure or persons who were affected by the stroke, as well as it can cause drought in the throat, The difficulty in sleeping, constipation, and anxiety.
I can not fail to mention that there are similar drugs from the same group of pharmaceutical has been withdrawn from the market because of the symptoms side in particular to heart valves.
The drug (Xenical) is a medication that is safer because the symptoms do not go beyond a side of the digestive gases, including the lack of control over the stool and lack of vitamins, and therefore advised to take vitamins at the same time as taking medication.
The non-medicinal methods is the best way to treat overweight or obese, this includes health food, sports, lifestyle change, and the medicines should not be used independently of these methods must be used in a unified program with other methods, but always remember that it is not risk free.
=Meanwhile, I summarize the most important characteristics of the slimming medicines to facilitate understanding them :
Medicine / preparation: Tenuate, Dospan, Dinentel
-Notes:The use of them is forbidden and very dangerous to human health
-Side effects: insomnia, concern, dizziness, irregular heart beats, may lead you to addict them.

-Notes:Given in addition to Food considered, under medical supervision
-Side effects: disorders of the digestive system with diarrhea in the absence of following the instructions
-Characteristics:Prohibit to absorb 30% of the fat in the diet consumed by one meal.
Also point out that the danger of herbs is no less dangerous than chemical drugs and therefore the use of diuretics whether the origin of chemical or herb lead to a drop weight rapidly and caused a temporary loss of fluids and salts and it is harmful for the body.
-Not all of what is the origin of natural herbs is useful or harmful and therefore be awar of dealing with any drug or herbal weight-loss without consulting a doctor ..

Hello. I was prescribed a diet medication named Reductil and also called Sibutramine, Meridia and Sibutrex. Reductil is a neurotransmitter reuptake inhibitor that reduces the reuptake of serotonin (by 53%), norepinephrine (by 54%), and dopamine (by 16%). Reductil is a centrally-acting serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.
I did not know that this drug was structurally related to amphetamines ("New Drugs". Australian Prescriber 25 (1): 22. 2002).
I experienced massive mania and did many things that I would not otherwise have done. I felt indestructible, euphoric with unbounded energy.
When stopped taking the drug I experienced some sort of trauma which seemed to have dramatically effected my mental and physical state. I was diagnosed as suffering major depression and general anxiety disorder and has been treated for these ever since.
I have experienced the following symptoms to various degrees since stopping the drug. Major depression, anxiety, memory problems, cognition, concentration, lethargy, headaches, dizziness, light-headedness when sitting or standing. I have extremely loud excruciating buzzing in my ears 24/7. My vision is a strange type of blurriness even after getting new glasses to try and correct it. I feel like a rope is tied around my brain pulling me back, not headaches. Dry mouth, shaking, insomnia, nausea and upper part of left leg numb from as spasm soon after stopping Reductil. I have a slight numbness on my extremities mainly noticeable on my finger tips. I am easily agitated, over-reacting to situations, anger. My jaw is sore from tension.
My speech seems to be stilted and I continually loose my train of thought like can?óÔé¼Ôäót get my brain straight. I have to make notes about nearly everything I have to do or I?óÔé¼Ôäóll forget. I have chunks of memory missing. I get confused when driving, lost, loose concentration, bump median strips and garage doors.
I have forgotten where I parked car, bank pin numbers, phone numbers including my own and my address. I have isolated myself from family, friends and work colleagues, have hardly worked since that time. I am embarrassed to even invite tradesman into my unit because of it?óÔé¼Ôäós state. I just manage to do the bare minimum with a struggle.
Most days I lay in bed all day and night. I go to kitchen to get food and take it back to bed. I have the windows closed and curtains drawn. Everything I do seems to be a struggle. I don?óÔé¼Ôäót check the mail box, shower or shave unless I have to go out of my unit. I was a very social person now I?óÔé¼Ôäóm a recluse. I get no pleasurable sensations from anything. It?óÔé¼Ôäós like my brain is completely devoid of whatever chemicals enable you to experience pleasure. I can recognise it is a beautiful day but can?óÔé¼Ôäót experience the pleasurable feeling. I used to be the life of the party, good sense of humour and often asked to be master of ceremonies and give speeches.
I was employed as a lawyer and as you can see my life has been totally destroyed by taking this drug. I wanted to share my experience to help others who may be thinking of taking this drug.
I would like to find anyone who may have suffered similarly to me. I can be contacted at ResearcherOne111@gmail.com
Many people who have taken this drug have died from heart attacks and strokes. The drug has been taken off the market in most countries. The manufacturers have been successfully sue from $$millions of dollars. If enough people could be located who suffered similarly to me then maybe a class-action law suite could be mounted.
Thanks very much for reading this. I hope it helps in some way. All the best. ResearcherOne
