Hi. I have joined this forum yesterday and I have some doubts regarding weight loss. I hope experienced members will help me find a solution.

  1. Today is my first day of exercise. Whenever i exercise, I feel very suffocating. Like, If i walk for 10 mins, I start feeling suffocating. how to deal with it?
  2. If I lose weight, my body size will get reduced, then what will happen to the already elongated skin?
  3. What I need to do to stop myself from deviating from my diet chart? Like, how to resist myself when I see good food in front of me?
  4. Drinking Lemon Water with honey helps in anyway to lose weight?
  5. I am lazy. How can I get myself to work hard?

Thank You.

Regards,
Anand

i know i am not a senior member but the suffocating will pass. Ihad been completely inactive since i was about 13. Walking up 6 stairs would make me feel like i was going to die. Don't get frustrated it will get easier. I worked with a personal trainer and nutritionist for a few weeks. they said to stay within your target heart range. if you go over by too much it is possible to have a heart attack depending on your age and how much weight you need to lose. You may want to speak to a doctor about it though just to be on the safe side.

After i changed the way i was eating when i cheated i would feel bad about it, sometimes sick, my main thing was pasta. i could eat a whole pound to myself. afterwards and for  a few days afterwards i would drage and feel cruddy. sometimes depending on what i would eat i would have very upsetting dreams. hard to believe that a burger could cause nightmares ha ha ha

Good luck! Everyone on here seems to be exremely helpful and inspiring.

Ok, I am going to attempt to help.

1. I would say that you need to wear loose clothing, and try to breath a little faster. I had this issue with not being able to breath when I was jogging. I think allot of the problem was I was trying to breath a certain way and focusing to much on it. I finally just quit thinking about it and just started breathing how I had to- to accomplish the jog.

I don't know if that will help you or not, but it's something to think about.

2. This is why you want to exercise while you lose weight to help build and tone the muscles. Some of the skin will not go away, but allot can tone up.

3. Anything you can, I used all kinds of tricks. I would throw things away, I would chug water, I would fill up on salad, I would bribe myself. I would also allow treats every so often to keep from going on a binge.

4. I couldn't tell you, cause I can't stand honey and lemon is not one of my favorites either. I drink plain instant tea, all day long.

5. Being lazy, just go for a casual walk, make yourself do that everyday, after awhile you will want to go for that walk, then pretty soon, you will want to walk more. etc, etc. Just got to start, then after that your body or your conscience will keep you going.

Well, I hope that helps.

One other thing, I didn't mention. When I first started to diet, I made little changes. Like I would limit how many sodas a day I could have. Eventually, I gave it up all together. Also, try different diet foods, I am always trying new stuff. I try to make it a point to try new foods as well. Diet foods or healthy foods don't have to be boring or icky. Just got to find what you like.

So, just take baby steps, and go from there. Good Luck to you, and I hope you reach your goals...

It isnt always easy, my best advice to you is:  Don't give up and keep trying no matter what.  It has taken me over two years to lose fifty pounds, but it was all worth it.

In regards to specific questions...

1.  Take exercise slow, work up to it.  I didn't even excercise at first.  Just changing my diet was hard enough for me, I didn't need anything else hard to take my focus.  Try adding some small walks here and there.  It's going to be uncomfortable at first, but it will get easier.

2.  Worst case senario your skin stays exactly the same size it is now.  But you will be lighter, and healthier and you will wear smaller clothes.  Deal with skin if that becomes an issue, don't stress about things that may or may not be a problem.  And if it really is that important to you try some toning exercises those will help.

3.  Do whatever you have to!  Stopping a binge for me is a hard thing to do, but I do it all the time.  I chew gum, I eat a lot of fruit, I drink tons of water.  I didn't stop giving in to temptation over night, it took time to give it up.

4.  Only in the way that it may fill you up.  But you really don't need the extra calories from honey, and lemon is just flavor.

5.  I'm lazy too, no worries.  Eating better gives you energy, you just have to learn to put that energy into the right outlet (ie. exercise.)  And sometimes I just plain kick my butt, "Get off the sofa Jackie (that would be me), no excuses, you don't want to be fat, then do something about it!"
