I hear some people saying Coffee is horrible for you to drink in the morning, and some people say it's a great drink. Which is it?

| Well, as long as you make sure to take into account the calories from coffee each day, I'm sure it's not that bad. I prefer green tea, just because it's healthier and I don't have to count any calories for it.

| Well actually Harvard did a study on coffee turns out it is good for you. The results of the study were published in the January 6, 2004 issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine. In a study that had over 125,000 participants, researchers found that drinking six or more cups of coffee a day significantly reduces the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Did that include the addition of cream and sugar?
I don't care much for coffee, including espresso, although espresso is better than that liquid substance we call coffee here in the U.S.
I do like cappucinos...mocha lattes...etc., which definitely are not good for you.
I also stay away from caffeine - I have a hard enough time sleeping at night, and it has had a very noticeable effect on that in the past.

I use sugar free creamer and no sugar at all. Man you should have seen the amount of sugar . Seriously it was an ungodly amount makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it

i love coffee in the morning. i usually drink mine with a bit of almond or soy milk or black.
it can be hard to stomach if you drink it before breakfast or instead of breakfast (had my fair share of those days unfortunately).
coffee in genreally is a personal choice. if you shouldn't be drinking coffee because of health reasons then of course you shouldn't. and if you are drinking a pot a day that isn't good either. but a cup every morning or every few mornigns isn't bad.

I pretty much cut coffee out when i started my dieting. Not really for any particular reason, but because i felt the need to cut out most caffeines. I still do drink a cup of tea for breakfast, with skim milk and no sugar.
Maybe it's just me, but i feel a lot better NOT drinking the coffee that i used to drink... And i could drink 5 or 6 cups by the afternoon. Plus the amount of flavored creamer that i used to put in my coffee...
Now i'll occasionally have a cup on the weekend, and my fiance and i sit down together to have breakfast. But now, i'll add just one tablespoon of creamer, and then add a little skim milk and drink it like that. I didn't even have any this weekend, i actually wanted my tea more than coffee for once!

I just love my coffee in the morning! Especially if it's flavored, hazelnut, french vanilla, mocha cream, etc. Usually we mix it 1/2 flavored - hi test and 1/2 decaf plain coffee to cut down on the effects. Also can't drink it without fat free creamer (flavored too) but not sugar. Don't need sugar from the sweetness of the creamer.
Recently though we ran out of my creamer and substituted it with Splenda. Wow, not bad at all!
