I got really fed up with all the extra calories that come with just one tortilla, let alone if I want more so I came up with this idea after eating a beef and cabbage dish one night.

Warning-these are messy when eaten!

You'll need:

One head of large leafed lettuce

One can of low sodium black beans

Low fat mozarella cheese

Salsa

and Low fat (I like daisy the best) sour cream

To prepare:

Cook beans over low heat until warm, stir in mozarella to desired consistency

Using lettuce leaf as a wrap spoon in warm, gooey bean mix, salsa, and sour cream.  Fold up and enjoy!

Hey they do make some low cal wheat tortillas...

There called: Buena Vida for low carb diets.

Nutrition facts.

1 tortilla

calories 70

total fat 4g

250 mg sodium

I have tried other wheat tortillas and not liked most of them. These are really light compared to the others that I have had.

Your version certainly is more healthy than mine. But, thought I would share the info.

Thanks for the info cport, I'll have to try those.  Like you said I've tried wheat tortillas before and they're just kinda blah.

Sounds good!  I might have to try this, but without the sour cream.  I wonder how tacos would taste wrapped in lettuce instead of a shell...

LOL!  I guess that's true.  Whenever I eat a taco it usually ends up as a salad anyway, since I'm such a messy eater!
