So, this morning (9am) I had a bagel with cream cheese (cheated!) and a coffee, a couple hours later (11am) I had a big bowl of pineapple and strawberries - for lunch I had 1/4 rotisserie chicken (with skin) and about 1C. steamed vegetables (1pm)... the strangest thing happened though!!  About 20mins after I finished my lunch I WAS RAVENOUS!  Not just hungry, but starving!!

Heck, I was hungrier AFTER I ate lunch than before I ate.

I'm having 1/2C low-fat cottage cheese with a few pineapple chunks and some strawberries now because I'm so darn hungry.

What did I do wrong?  I have not clue?!

I am only guessing but you said you had a "big bowl" of fruits.   Perhaps you were on a low a couple of hours later after the sugars in the fruits wore off.    Your body translated the craving for more sugar = hunger.

That sounds right mollymoo. Another thing you can try is to snack on some carb items to fill you up or protein bars. I know the goal is not to eat. But, if you don't eat that much and keep it healthy you should be ok. I don't eat meals, so I snack all day. After I walk, if I walk in the mornings, I am starving. Usually one bowl of cereal don't cut for me. So, I eat that plus a protein bar, some veggie with low cal dip. Then, usually I am good untill later in the day.

Otherwise the hardest time for me is in the afternoon. So, I do the same. I just keep snacking but make sure they are healthy ones. I eat things like protein bars, veggies, fruit, pretzels, low cal pudding, cereal bars or just a bowl of cereal.

So, maybe cut back on the meal and do more snacking. Not sure, or change the fruit out for veggies.

Or maybe cut the carbs out in the morning and have the fruit, then have the carbs with your lunch to fill you up more.

Sometimes just mixing things up a little will do the job.

Anyway, good luck, hope you find the answers you need.

Thanks, gals

Yeah, I think it mighta been those carbs in the morning that did it... I usually have the fruit & cottage cheese with some nuts in the morning so I'm probably spoiled by all that protein.  I'm back on schedule today though and I've added a roll to my chicken & veggie lunch.  Hopefully that does the trick.

I'm so sad I even have to worry about this stuff though! There was a time when I could eat whatever whenever and no exercise at all and I was slim and trim!

OH WELL! :dizzy:

You know what sucks?  I'm food obsessed.  Always have been/  and I'm worried now that since I've lost 15lbs since last summer I'm getting worse!  For instance.  I'm going on vacation next week and I'm kind of bummed because normally the whole trip would be centered around food.  Seriously.  Now I'm imahining myself feeling guilty and wanting to  EXERCISE! on the trip!!  What's that all about?! :crying:  I feel like all of my fun is being taken away from me! It's kind of depressing actually.

I use to be like that also, you just have to lighten up on yourself some. I still stress out about stuff at times.

I even have been walking when I go camping- like I don't get enough exercise. Geeez

I already have my miles in for this week, but I know I will walk some more. But, I am going on vacation next week and I am only going to walk half of what I normally do. I owe it to myself to have a good time.

And you should do the same. Give yourself a break and enjoy yourself. You can get back on track when it's all over with.

Thanks.  Thanks a lot.  Maybe I'll just work extra hard this week to account for what I'll be doing up in San Francisco: eating out every meal, eating lots of cheese and fried stuff and clam chowder! :pig:

I just know myself and that if I deprive myself, I'll rebel - against myself - which doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'll do it anyway.

Like last night instead of having a healthy vegetarian white chili in chicen broth, I opted to reheat some of my boyfriends buffalo chicken strips [which I had been obsessively thinking about ALL DAY], dipping my breadsticks in the leftover oil on my plate.  I felt so worried about the calories I contemplated walking another 2.5 miles above what I had done that morning.  I told myself to get a grip though.  Sheesh.  Gotta live a little I guess.
