I was wondering what anyone opinion is on frozen veggies....most of the time, my lunch and dinner consists of bagged salad greens, a tilapia or chicken filet, and some frozen veg medley heat up in the microwave...
many veggies still arent in season and the ones available are expensive...so i buy bags of the frozen kind...
are they still nutritious? i heard if you heat veggies they lose a lot of their nutritional value. obviously they are more nutritious than other option, but i since i dont eat a lot of what "normal" people eat, i.e. grains and such, i need to get the most out of the foods i do eat...
also, has anyone felt gassy or bloated after eating something with a sugar substitute such as aspertame or sucralose? sometimes, for dessert i have a small fatfree low cal yogurt, and oftentime it has sucralose or something in it. afterwards i always feel gassy :( thoughts, anyone?

frozen veggies are still great for you. infact, they sometimes retain more of thier nutritional value because they are frozen at thier prime. as long as it's not coated with some sort of sauce, they are great for you....
and yup! i thought i was the only one that got gassy and bloated from fake sugars! no matter what it is, i get it (gum, soda, sf pudding... you name it!). my legs and tummy get really bloated and i can get really bad stomache aches if i have too much. if you add splenda to anything, try getting stevia powder at a local GNC. it's an all natural sweetener, no cal (well, even splenda has about 4 cals per gram, technically... so they are teh same). the tste might take a bit to get used to, but i totally prefer it. it's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it, to me. and it doesn't make me bloated or have gas AT ALL!!!!
