I am struggling with weightloss here. I turn 40 in 2 weeks, measure 5'11" and weight 224 lbs. The last few weeks I have been bouncing around 221 to 224.
I hit the gym w/ a personal trainer 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week. I am currently doing 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week. All to no avail.
My eating habits have changed. From 3 times a day at approx 1200 cal a day. To 5 times a day for 1600 calories a day.
Needless to say, after 4 weeks of this with no weightloss, the clothes aren't fitting any looser etc... I am getting real frustrated.
So I have thought about changing my cardio to 45 minutes a day. BUT, 30 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes in the late afternoon. (I can do this as I work from home)
Do you all think this is a viable approach? I plan on asking my PT this evening too, but information is key!

Your unadjusted RMR is 1948 (if male) or 1782 (if female) and I'd therefore not eat any less than 1461 (male) or 1337 (female).
I'd keep tabs on your body fat% as well as the weight shown by the scale.

| I was having the same problems. My weight was around 230 and at 6-2 for height. I couldn't run because of worn knee joints. I have biked, and kayaked to no avail. Got down to around 220 but no less usually. I started P90X and 90 days later with a proper diet dropped from a 40 waist to a 34. Dropped from 217 to 193 and now I feel great. These are some extreme workouts but they work. My wife went from 190 to 134 using the Slim in 6 and Walking Away the Pounds but I still think P90X is the way to go. I have never felt stronger, more flexible, or healthy in my lifetime. At 48 years of age I can do anything that I did when I was 20. We both have profile pages as well on the internet to help others reach their goals.
