I am one of those people who needs help on what foods to eat. I am only 19 yr olds but i weigh a good 164. Although i am not considered fat, i do have abotu 34 extra pounds on me i dont need. My main problem is i have a three yr old step son i am feeding. When his father is not around he will only eat what i am eating. I  need some advice on foods i can buy at the grocery store. I can't cook AT ALL so this doesn't helpmy situtation. Right now all i basically eat is corn, green beans, and salad. If anyone can suggest some good food thats easy to make me and my step son would appreciate it!

If I'm entirely honest, whether it is meat, fish, TVP or vegetables, the only type of cooking I do these days involves turning on the microwave oven and I don't think I'm depriving myself of anything at the moment.

I guess if I had to make a suggestion, then I would recommend checking out a cookbook from the library (or buying one).  There are so many different titles out there... I bet there is one to the effect of "simple but healthy dinners".  Maybe others can chime in with specific recommendations.  Also you could do an internet search for simple healthy dinner ideas.

Once you pick out a recipe or two to try, you can build your shopping list around the ingredients you'll need.
