I used to take hydroxycut hardcore for about a month and 1/2,  then one night i felt extremley dizzy and nauseas. My heart would not stop racing and i could tell it was because of the hydroxycut.  I stopped taking it all together the next day (bad idea) even though I was taking 3 pills twice a day.  Ever since then for the past two months my heart hasnt stopped racing, i cant seem to relax, and tension/headaches are always with me.

Please anyone who can help respond to this, and let me know what to do to get rid of these withdrawal symptoms!! I thought about going back up to the doseage i was at and decreasing slowly, but im not sure how well that would work.

Thank you.

We're not doctors here so obviously my point of view isn't professional. or qualified.

If I was in your shoes, I'd go to my doctor STRAIGHT AWAY. Maybe your body is still recovering from the experience, but it could be more serious. Go to the doctor to make sure that you haven't done any permanent damage and if you have, so you can get medication to help the situation.

I don't think you should start taking the drugs again. If you do, you'll be feeding the addiction again. You'll also be endangering your life again.

I typed it in to google just now and seeing the negative side, I definitely believe that going cold turkey would be best. One woman passed out in the street taking four pills a day. Another had severe stomach pains. Plus the general view is that the pills don't work unless your control your eating and exercise- that means the pills aren't even needed!

Basically, please go to your doctor and get your body checked out. When you're ready, please come back and we can help you get fit the right and healthy way!

Good luck.

Ya, Heavenseventeen pretty much summed it up! SEE A DOCTOR A.S.A.P!!!

Hydroxycut, like other diet pills is basically just legal speed. I'm curious...did you lose much weight on it? I see the hydroxycut commercials like 20 times a day on the weekends so it's interesting to hear a real testimonial from some one who actually used the pills and didn't like what happened 1 bit!

Diet pills are actually a pretty dangerous and for the most part, ineffective way to lose weight. I'm sorry you had to find that out for yourself:crying:. Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you how and how not to lose weight. It's up to you to experiment and see what's best for you:smile:. Just be careful as experimenting with different foods and exercises is one thing, but experimenting with weight loss drugs (yes they're mostly just legal drugs) is another. I'm not a doctor, but I can almost garantee your doctor will say the same thing.

Anyway, as far as getting rid of withdrawal symptoms, just try to eat healthy and take it easy until you can make an appointment with a qualified physician. Perhaps try a tea? I read that tea can help relax your muscles, particularily green and black tea. Do you have any hydroxycut left? If so---Throw it out IMMEDIATELY! In fact you should probably complain to the company that makes it. I'll bet you're not the first to complain and maybe you can help get those stupid, lying commercials off the air for GOOD!

I agree with the others, see your doctor, the sooner, the better.  If you have access, today is better than tomorrow.  I am not a doctor, but I am a Master Herbalist.  The symptoms you describe are consistent with the type of chemicals in Hydroxycut.  Most people feel the same thing to a certain extent, others have had so much caffeine in their system, the don't notice a difference.

Make sure you tell your doctor if you are taking any other supplements or drugs, as supplement/drug interactions exist.  Even something simple like an allergy medication can affect how you handle supplements like Hydroxycut.

Try taking coffee or tylenol, i had the same thing, but i am an off and on coffee drinker, and it seem to work when i stopped the hydroxycut and drank coffee twice a day, then i just stopped coffee slowly.

Please go see a physician right away!  Those things can cause heart problems!  I took some pill back in the 90's and thought I was going to die!  Same thing with some of those so called energy drinks like Red Bull....Heart races, dizzy, tight chest, etc....never again!

Hydroxycut is one of the worst supplements on the market.  Last year they were sued and forced to pay out a huge settlement to the consumers that were in the class action suit.

In other words, DON'T TAKE HYDROXYCUT!

I know this topic is 2 years old.. but I wanted to see if there were anybody else taking it right now?

I am 18 and have been taking it alongside with my mom since the 17th of Feb. I don't believe that diet pills can do all the work so I changed my diet and excercise a good amount each week.

I know that I can probably work just as hard without the pills but they sorta give me a little push that says I can't start going back to the way before. Also, having my mom take them with me and both being in a diet helps.

I used to weight 235lb... I am now at 227lb. This is probably one of the biggest weight loss i've had since I've been 235... Its hard to believe the diet pills did this.. afterall I did change my diet.. I am now eating about 1600 Calories.. and I walk many miles... but since the 17th.. by taking the pills.. they have kept me inline with not getting out of my diet.

So.. has anyone else had any problems with Hydroxycut? I'm not saying they work.. but I am worried more about problems to our health.

Jalba, I dont know what to tell you other than I dont recommend them. I am still fighting the rapid pulse rate and high BP that they have caused me. I am on beta blockers and BP Meds for help. I can be in a deep sleep and my pulse rate will get 130-170 and wake me. I feel like I am going to have a heart explosion. I have another appointment with the cardiologist Wednesday.

I can you you a soup diet recipe that is awesome!! No drugs and great results!! My doctor approved it. You may want to get it checked by your doctors office.

Have you had your blood pressure or heart rate checked since on Hydroycut? Mine was so gradual I didnt see the mess it was causing. I was only on the pills November and December 2008.....This is March 2009 and I am still have trouble. Hydrocut just says that the warning is on the insert label.

God Bless!

Jalba, I am a Master Herbalist and I can tell you that I don't recommend Hydroxycut.  Even if you don't have a problem with it now, that can change very rapidly.  Your best bet, weight loss wise is to do what you've been doing other than taking any weight loss product...eat a low fat, low calorie diet and exercise.  That's what I did, and I lost 60 pounds.

Well.. I appreciate your responses and I was never really a fan of taking diet pills.. I am a firm believer that a good diet and excercise will pay off by losing weight.. naturally.
Only reason I started using them was because my mom believes in diet pills.. and being in a diet with her and the pills.. makes me work extra harder. Taking the pills away.. I know I can still keep going and it will all be better losing the weight naturally.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am just getting on the internet to see if this had happened to anyone else. I only recently drew the connection to hyrdroxycut that I had only taken a small dose of before christmas this past year. The ensuing week was intense... I had very frequent heart palpitations and dizzyness. It all culminated in an ambulance ride after a two-mile walk through the city into the hospital where I was finally calmed down.

I have had some sort of permanent damage because I still have short small palpatations on a rather daily basis. That first week I thought I was going to die though. After that they slowly decreased in frequency and intesity. I had no insurance at the time and was rather #%@&! out of luck. The ambulance ride, x-rays, doctor bill ran up more than 4K. Ahhh! Not cool for a broke student.

Worst of all, the x-rays were non-conclusive and the doctors told me I was only hyperventilating! ha! Believe me, you'd be breathing hard too if your heart was racing out of control and you felt out of breath.

Glad to hear I'm not totally alone. Anywhere to get more information on similiar cases?

I am not saying that you should take hydroxycut but I have taken hydroxycut hardcore off an on for about a year and I have really toned up and lost weight. I am an athletic person and did not change my eating habits or anything after taking the product. I did experience from time to time irregular heart beats but very rarely. Some times people should understand that some people's bodies can't handle some products but not everybody felt these side effects. I think people are having side effects from the iregular increased blood flow to the heart and organs. Howver it is illegal now so don't take it and don't risk yourself. I didn't have to step down slowly so go cold turkey for the fastest and best results. Tell yourself you can do oit and you can. Its a mental thing. Good luck.

I believe Hyrdocycut was ordered taken off the market by the FDA. Not sure if Health Canada ordered the same thing, but the space at mt local Wal-Mart where Hydroxycut products used to be is bare these days. From what I have read it was taken off because some peopel had liver damge from using it. I did not see anything about heart issues, but it doesn't surprise me to read the issues you ladies have had with it. I used diet pills a few years ago and founf they mad eme real jitter-y.
