I am being tested for celiac disease.  My father had celiac disease and I have been having some digestive problems so I'm pretty sure that is what I have too.  This really stinks!  Does anyone else in the forum have celiac disease?  I got some gluten free bread (rice bread) and it's disgusting!  I like the rice crackers though.  There is so little I can comfortably eat already without getting sick that I really don't need another food intolerance.  Pretty soon I'll be stuck with rice crackers and water :(

Hi Snow,

I'd never heard of it and so didn't pay that much attention to your post. But I recognized the name of the disease when I saw an article on it in the current issue of Newsweek:

msnbc.msn.com/id/20643573/site/newsweek/

Looks like it's getting some national attention.

Wishing you well,

Thanks for the info, Peter.  You know how they say, oh...that is the greatest thing since sliced bread.  Never really understood how really great sliced bread was until I ate sliced rice bread.  I tried to make some french toast with it and it wouldn't even absorb the egg!  It's so yucky.  I'm eating a lot of fish/chicken/and brown rice with veggies though, and that stuff is yum!
