I'm 18 years old. I'm currently 135 lbs. I'm 5'7. I'm just beginning to pursue my dream of being a ballet dancer. I have an audition at the end of this month. I would really really like to drop 15lbs and get down to 120 lbs... i doubt i could do that in one month... however... i'd like to lose what i can before i go. I want to feel confident about my body when i'm auditioning. It is hard with just wearing a little leotard and tights to feel good about your body...because you can see every little bit of fat you may have. Is there anyone that has any idea on what kind of diet i should try?... How much calories should i have a day? What foods are best for me to be eating while i'm trying to loss this weight?... and also how can i maintain the weight of 120lbs?... I would be so thankful for any ideas, suggestions, or comments you may have. : - ) karyn Attached Image (viewed 114 times): Last edited on 1 Mar 2007 01:22 am by karyn_elise |

I used the website's RMR calculator to get the answers. Your unadjusted RMR is 1425, so don't consider eating any less. If you are exercising, the ideal amount to consume to lose fat will be in the range 1665 .. 1877, depending on how often you exercise and how intensely [figures are using activity factors 1.375 and 1.55, with a 15% deficit included]. Eat sufficient amounts of protein [92g - 110g throughout the day]. To maintain 120 lb, 1866 calories provided you remain 'lightly active'. |

Please also start reading the Tutorial. If you want to stay in ballet, you need to remain healthy and slim for the long run! Good luck, Peter |
