Hi,

Ideally, you always want to stick with the more healthy, natural unprocessed foods. Have you ever considered bringing fruits with you?No health bar comes close to the real vitamins, minerals, fiber and natural flavors found in fruits.Hope that helps, I see that this Power Bar has many additives I cant even pronounce, and that smells trouble.9 grams of sugar is way too much for a simple sugars bar, rememeber, always make healthier choices, the habit of doing that will become easier and easier over time!:smile:

Sure!  I occasionally have these as a quick snack at work along with a piece of fruit to tide me over.  I also like Kashi bars which have 30 more calories, but are more natural and made with whole grains.  South Beach bars are my favorite though, but are more of a meal replacement bar due to the higher calorie value.  They have a high protein content, too.  But I think the overall consensus is the 'occasionally' part.  It's always better to get your nutrition from 'real foods' and use these in a pinch.

62% of the calories in this bar come from carbohydrates. Which type? the refined type. 33% is sugar and 29% is refined grain. The vitamins and minerals have been added (much like they have been to sugary breakfast cereals). What you have there is candy pretending to be a health food.

Thanks for all the comments.  I should emphasize that this is an occasional snack.  The reason I asked was because the other day I didn't have any snacks with me.  I had planned on being out a couple of hours.  Well, a couple of hours turned into all day and all I had eaten all day was oatbran for breakfast.  If I had left a bar in the car, I could have at least had a snack.  I know they are full of sugar, so I try to avoid them.
