Hi there everyone:) I *just* got here..never saw this site before so I really *am* new. I was actually looking for a calorie counter so I could fine the amount of calories in the banana I just ate.:D Let's see...I'll do this introduce myself thing I guess. I'm 20 years old..ehhh I used to weigh in at 236 LBs and be almost a size 18. That was last summer. I am now at 206 and a size 14 that are tight on somedays (mostly PMS days though). My small goal right now is to lose 20 LB's by January 27th, which is my 21st birthday which will put me at roughly a size 12. My overall goal is to lose 40 more lb's, be in the 160's and be about a size 10. I lost all this weight through counting calories, so basically watching what I eat and light exercise. I might catch some flack for this, but I am firmly against all those fad diets. I think they are a load of #%@&!. My room mate has been going back and forth with doing the Atkins and she always gets #%@&! off because she is with holding food that she wants so she binges (this girl also has a binging eating disorder but that's a totally different story) Anyways, I guess I'm just looking for support and some new friends:D

Just wanted to welcome you aboard!  I have not been around long, but have really become "addicted" to this site.  It has a lot of great information, and reading others journaling ect puts things into perspective for me.

I too am one who is avoiding fad diets and want to just eat healthy.  I think I have finally realized it is time to listen to my body.  I don't restrain from any food I want, but I do restrain from eating when I am not hungry.

Good luck!!!

Rachael

Well now, that would be how a wild tiger would eat, wouldn't it? And they are always sleek and beautiful creatures.

Lucky for them they don't have supermarkets and fast food joints!

P.S.

And kitchen cupboards and refrigerators and...

... and flight attendants with snack mix and cookies, and hotels with menu choices like the (greasy) gravlax quesadilla overflowing with brie, and clients who insist on polishing off a full bottle of wine with dinner and ignore you when you say "when."

and going out to eat...it's the devil...but I've done good the past several times...it's just a matter of knowing what is good for you and what you can eat and the calorie amount...luckily I did this diet for a long time before and I know a lot of calorie amounts and can make a guesstimate in my head before ordering
