Hello,
My advice is DON'T DO IT!!!!!
It it really sad to hear about so many people going on the HCG Diet because they take the "research" the people that sell this stuff post on their website as facts.
In 2009, the American Society of Bariatric Physicians issued a position statement which stated:"Numerous clinical trials have shown HCG to be ineffectual in producing weight loss"
If someone achieves any permanent weight loss by using it, I would say it is probably a case of their being at a point when they are emotionally and physically ready to drop the weight, and the HCG is just a mental tool they use to help themselves do it.
However, the extremely low calorie limit is what concerns me the most about the HCG diet. Nearly all medical experts agree that it is not safe to eat only 500 calories a day for an extended length of time. It can cause all sorts of health problems. Please do not risk your health on their theory about the HCG only causing your body to burn fat and not muscle!
I've noticed LOTS of people that sell HCG products are filling up the diet-related health forums with "success story" posts about how great it is and how much weight they supposedly lost (which look like they were posted by ordinary people that want to lose weight), along with a link to a website where you can order it. I would be very skeptical about dealing with any of those companies.
One place that has unbiased reviews and information about HCG and other diet plans is
http://www.ultimatefatburner.com/hcg-review.html
You can also read it about it at Diet Scam Watch
http://www.dietscam.org/reports/hcg.shtml
where they have several links to scientific research on the subject.

I am new here but am prescribed Phentermine from WV doctor. It helped until I got immune to the hunger suppression. I want to try something new - I am desperate!

| You can go to yourhcgdiet.com and order it from there. The ladies name that runs it is called Fran and they are good about getting it out to you. They will also answer any questions you might have. This is where I get mine and I am fixing to order again.

I am a registered Medical Technologist with a BS degree & work in a lab. I have interactions with many doctors. My doctor got me checked out to do the hCG injections which he and his wife, along with many other medical staff, have had great success with.Unfortunately I am the one who got sick and almost died from the injections while working side by side with the prescribing physician. I was in the mall on week 2 1/2 and had lost 15 pounds when I felt dizzy and short of breath. I went home immediately and my husband, a physician, had to drive me to the ER. I was at high risk for having a blood clot. My CBC showed that my RBC's were shredded to bits. THey were hollow and my Hgb was 7. (Keep in mind, my tests were all normal prior to the injections). I had a high bilirubin, also. I was told to get 2 units of blood since my cells were being shredded probably due to fibrin tearing them up in my bloodstream which is an indicator of blood clots. I thought I was going to die. I obviously stopped the shots and began taking baby aspirin to disolve any clots and prevent any more from forming. I missed 2 weeks of work. At 2 weeks, my RBC's still looked awful. Instead of being round with a central pallor, they were cresent shaped, torn up, pale, hollow, in other words, just as bad as 2 weeks prior. The worst thing was that at 52 years of age, I had not had a menstral period in 6 months and now I was getting one. This continued, sometimes every two weeks. I wasput on iron for anemia and still had a low H & H for almost a year. I ended up having a D & C and ablation. My periods came back in 6 weeks with a vengence. The GYN said it was definitely due to the hCH which caused my ovaries to over react. So 9 months after the D & C & ablation, I had a hysterectomy. I now have a 10 Hgb which is way better than a 7, but normal is above 12 or more like 14, in most females.
The prescribing physician acknowledges that I am the one statistic, but everyone else is doing well on them and he continues to prescribe injections and others continue to do lose weight on them with no side effects. But I would never take them again. Logically, I thought hCG was OK because I have had 3 children so obviously my body produced high levels of hCG (>1 million mg/dl) each time. But I think age may be a factor. That is why women my age are considered high risk if they are pregnant. In fact, there are not many 52=53 year olds having babies. So I would only use it if I were under 45 and didn't smoke, etc. In fact, the injections have more serious side effects (Proof perfect in my case) so I would use the drops or pills. Keep in mind I was also on Birth Control pills for years but stopped at 35. Just watch for any life threatening symptoms. Mine came over me in a matter of minutes and was afraid I wouldn't make it home. Just saying it is not for everyone. So be careful. I almost died.
Also, being in medicine, I was very careful to use sterile techniques and to be very accurate on the amount injected. There was no irritation at the injection site so I know it was not caused by any infection. I had no fever and was not septic.

I'm just wondering if you know what are the real HCG drops to purchase. I have been looking on line and I see a few different types.
Thank you
