OK, so this is a touchy subject.  One I'm embarrassed to bring up, but I have to.  I am experiencing so much gas from trying to eat well.  It is to the point where I am considering going back to old habits when I didn't have this problem.  I eat yogart, some nuts (sunflower or pitstachios), soy milk, whole wheat pasta and breads.  What is causing this?  How do I get it to stop?

Is anyone else having this issue?

My personal experience is that when I have started to eat better (read: more gas-causing veggies) the gas starts but it is only a matter of time till my body adjusts to the new diet and it subsides.

Try "Beano," or charcoal tabs. There's plenty products on the market for gas.

It took my body 3 weeks to adjust to my new way of eating. I'm fine now. No annoying problems. :D

My guess would be lactose intolerance. Try Lactaid or similar. In general, the better I eat, the less gas I have.

I think you just need to give your body time to adjust to your new healthy way of eating.  Your body is just reacting to something that it is not use to . It will eventually  ease up.

I'm a 20-year vegetarian, which makes me a battle-hardened veteran in the field of intestinal gas!

You do adjust to it in time.   Gas really isn't a good enough reason to return to an unhealthy lifestyle.  (Face it, gas never killed anyone, whereas bad habits often do).

Give it time - and meanwhile, you could always bottle it and use it for BBQs!

(Seriously - if it ever gets to the stage where it's painful, just go somewhere private and lie with your legs and behind higher than your head).
