Hi everyone. I am new to these forums but not to this web site (i must compliment whoever runs the web site for it's amazing information).

Let me starts with my stats. I am 6 foot 1 i weight 212 pounds last time i checked and i would like to go down to 200 then 192 and then 186. I don't want to aim for 186 immediately has i like to take baby steps.

I used to go to a gym and everything was going ok until they jacked up the price when i turned 18. Has a college student i couldn't afford ?é?ú66 ($120)  a week. Since then i couldn't find a gym in my area that were affordable. Now i have the urge to lose weight again. I would like to start  to lose weight at home. I was checking the BMR and calories burned.

I noticed that during my game session (where i sometimes play for 10 hours straight) i lose about 3119 calories. All i do on those days is drink tea and have two or sometimes three meals. I was thinking to my self. If i walked 6 miles (it is very easy for me to do this) and i added it has an average of 3 miles/ hour including 30 minutes for the normal walking i do at my house. I could lose 3419 calories. This would mean that i could lose about 1419 calories a day if i consume 2000 calories. Since i used your tool i could go down to 192 in 1 month and 22 days. All though i didn't account for the fact that my BMR goes down has i lose weight. Should i go with this venture? I know if i tried this i would be able to do it since playing MMORPGs isn't interesting for me.

I put Male 19 6'1" 212lb into RMR calculator and got 2031. Assuming a sedentary lifestyle (10 hours of computer games) let's say maintenance calories 2640 and recommended daily intake 2244. You propose taking in about 2000 - that's just under your RMR. I guess it should be ok but definitely don't take it any lower! (Incidentally sometimes the Activity Calculator overestimates the calories you will burn - but if it was to really create a calorie deficit of 1500, that would be unhealthy, it would be too much and you would risk losing more muscle than fast and risking a slowed-down metabolism which would slow down your rate of fat loss)

?é?ú66 is a bit steep for a gym. I'm paying ?é?ú30 and some of my friends are paying just ?é?ú25. Check out some budget gyms like FitnessFirst to see if any are more affordable.
