I've been doing the Eat to Live diet for 3 weeks now... lost 16 lbs...  (5'9" and started at 201). I'm not doing the supplements - his or any kind. My trouble is that I've noticed that whenever I stand up, quickly or not, I get rather light-headed.

Anyone else have this or anyone know what type of mineral/vitamins that I would be deficient in? I'm thinking of starting to take some of his supplements... just to see if it takes care of it.

Thanks for any input!

One "shot in the dark" is that you now have low blood pressure (can be affected by your diet; generally not a problem unless you faint). See if you can have yourself measured (for example, my gym does it for free).

I would also tend to say that you have low blood pressure.  Because the diet cuts out so much salt your BP probably dropped significantly.  Low blood pressure is not a health risk in and of itself (I have had it, and always have it, regardless of how much I weigh).  You can try adding some salt back into the diet to see if that makes you feel better.  You will also adapt to the low blood pressure - try not to stand up too quickly, etc.  You can also add back caffeine to up your BP.  Get it checked by a doctor (or nurse, or anyone - even the machine at the grocery store).  I take his gentle care formula (and follow the diet, to some extent, on and off); I like it because there is no added iron and my iron status is already good.

I'll second that experience.  Maybe it's something going on in Durham (howdy neighbor).

I haven't checked the blood pressure, but I seem to notice the light-headedness most when I'm eating the least calories (multiple salads, multiple days in a row), and still going out and getting exercise or doing other "activities".
