Here is some tips to help to lose weight.

_Drink plenty of water or other calorie-free beverages.
"If you don't like plain water, try adding citrus or a splash of juice, or brew infused teas like mango or peach, which have lots of flavor but no calories,"

_Think about what you can add to your diet, not what you should take away.
Start by focusing on getting the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
fruits and vegetables displace fat in the diet. And that's not to mention the health benefits of fruits and vegetables.

_Enjoy your favorite foods.
You can enjoy your favorite foods, but you must do so in moderation

_Eat several mini-meals during the day.
Studies show people who eat 4-5 meals or snacks per day are better able to control their appetite and weight

_Eat protein at every meal.
Getting enough protein helps preserve muscle mass and encourages fat burning while keeping you feeling full. So be sure to include healthy protein sources, like yogurt, cheese, nuts, or beans, at meals and snacks.

_Stock your kitchen with healthy convenience foods.

_Eat foods in season.

_Be physically active.

Ah! Very revealing post! I do have the same belief that protein diet is essential in order to lose weight. Hence we have to choose our diet astutely (I prefer according to trainer). Another portion that we should take in account is; we should take adequate amount of water before and after exercise to stay away from dehydration.

These are good tips, the only one that I don't agree with is "You can enjoy your favorite foods, but you must do so in moderation" - i love cakes but i know that if I eat even a smaaall piece of it I will gain couple of pounds immediately

One of the biggest changes that I've done recently was that I drank a lot of water. Within a week I lost 4-5 pounds. It's crazy how important water is but a lot of people disregard it. I started out by drinking water once every 3 days. Now I'm drinking a gallon or so and I feel so much lighter and healthier.

Eat Less Fat and Sugar

This will help you cut calories. Fried foods and fatty desserts can quickly use up a day's calories. And these foods may not provide the other nutrients you need.

Make sure your other foods that day are low in fat and calories.
Eat a Wide Variety Of Foods

Make small changes.  For example, when at McDonalds when you want that Big Mac with those 550+ calories, choose one of the lower caloried sandwiches!  That's what I've been doing since March 3.  Also, I replaced regular chocolate with Hersheys Sugar Free Chocolates (and they are delicious) and I quit buying regular pasta and only buy DreamsField's now.  I also only buy the Sara Lee 45 calorie bread.  When I want something high calorie (like pizza) I determine if it is worth it at the time...If I can do without it I do (or make a Flat Bread pizza instead) but if I keep thinking about it and craving it then I just give in, enjoy, and move on!  Small steps!  (I've lost 32 lbs since March 3) on a low carb plan (limit to 100 carbs a day) but treat myself when necessary to stay sane!!
