| I am an emotional eater, and not the only one I am sure. Does anyone have any great ideas on what to do to manage the need to eat in any stress situation?:(

Make a list of postive things to do instead, and when the time comes pick one from the list.

i'm also an emotional eater, but perhaps more devastatingly, i often binge out of boredom. i find the same things work to head both types of overeating off at the pass. these are a few tricks i use to curb or prevent overeating:
drink a glass of water with every 100 calories you eat (youll get insanely full and wont be able to eat much)
start doing a chore you always said you would do and never had time
leave the house altogether (and leave your money/debit/credit cards at home so you dont buy foods) ill go for a walk, or to a friends, or if all else fails, go see a movie. at first it will be weird by yourself, but sure as splenda a tremendously thin actress will appear on screen for thincouragement!)
see how much (sugerfree) gum you can fit in your mouth at once)
call a friend or family member that you notoriously talk to for hours (i always call my mom when i feel a binge coming on because she talks my ear off AND scolds me when i eat on the phone!)
anyway, hope these help. i know how hard it is somtimes, but you just stay strong and know that eating only lasts a second, but if done right, thin is forever. also, no amount of food will make your problems disappear- in fact, they will only increase!
