Hi everyone! My name is Sara. Back in college there were a couple years where I was on this site daily. I kept a diary and everything and it really helped me stay on track. Well its been 4 years or so and I'm ready to start again! I'm 26 years old, a bar manager at a nice Italian restaurant, 5'9 and about 142.. I'll way myself tomorrow morning to get a more accurate number.I absolutely love my job.. it can be a little stressful but what job isn't? Oh and we have amazing food and it can be next to impossible to not eat it, especially the bread. I'm single and my love life can be pretty hectic. I've learned I lose weight when I have a special someone and gain when I don't. This is the first time in my life I'm comfortable with being alone. I'm very social and romantic but I've been enjoying having my own place (a cute little 1 bedroom) and my own life. Last year around this time I broke up with my ex and weighed 128.. I was very comfortable at this weight. I've made a big change in my lifestyle recently. I watched the movie "Vegucated" and made the decision to stop consuming animal products. This was about 2 months ago and has actually been a LOT easier than I ever would have thought. I consume a LOT more raw fruits and veggies now than ever before. Not going to lie, though, in the first few weeks I would have occasional bites of animal products at work. I don't get mad at myself for this because I only intend to dramatically cut down on contributing to the animal industries that I feel need a big shape-up on their regulations. Oh, and I eat the eggs that my mom's chickens lay. I'm excited to reap the positive benefits from my new lifestyle. This past year I've also started meditating frequently. I was born with a kidney problem that used to act up about every other week. Now its been about 3 months since I've felt it! So.. my goal is to be back at 128 again, only this time I want to be more fit and healthy. I would like to get my energy levels back up. The hours my workrequires seem to make me stay aawake late and sleep in late. I would like to stop this cycle. I have some loose plans for this.. I'd like to eat around 1300 calories a day. I will be tracking it on a weekly basis, however, so its not a huge issue if I go below or above this on any one day. I will do strength training daily and with the weather getting better a run in the mornings (I want to start waking up in the a.m. hours So if any of you have extra time to read, please help me stay accountable everyday! I know it worked for ne last time. Wednesday 3/27 Supplements- prenatal, zinc, c, b12, coq10, garlic, cranberry extract, green tea extract Coffee with 1/4 cup almond milk-20 3 small eggs with 2 mushrooms, some white and green onion, 1/2 tbs olive oil, 2 oz vegan almond cheddar flavored cheese- 330 Vegan burger with 1 ounce vegan cheese and 1/2 tbs bbq sauce- 170 Forgot my banana/blueberry smoothie I was going to take to work :( Big salad- romaine, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, candied walnuts, balsalmic vinegarette- 220 3 small eggs, 1/2 tbs olive oil, 1 slice Ezekiel bread (dry)- 300 Popcorn- 200 I did not workout today 1240 calories in perfect! Ate a LOT today! 8 large eggs- 560 2 tbs olive oil- 240 4 slice Ezekiel bread- 320 Medium banana-110 1/2 c blueberries- 40 1 c almond milk- 80 2 tbsp peanut butter- 200 Celery-10 Refried beans-140 Salsa-10 Mixed veggies-60 My lymph nodes in my neck have been swollen for the past few days. Its bad when I wake up and gets better as the day goes on. Started on the left and switched places to the right. Still burned about 2400 today between work and cleaning house. No strength training however I'm proud of myself for not eating any of our bread today. It is SERIOUSLY the best bread you will have ever had in your life and is very hard to not indulge on after hours of running around. Calories in:1770- a little high but all healthy sources Out: 2400ish= -660 On another note I would like to start a juice cleanse soon. I've been wanting to so one for a while but am waiting for the right time with work and life in general. I've done them before and they make me feel amazing! I just need tobe mentally ready before i commit. |

Well finally I woke up at a regular time! I got up at 9 and did laundry and dishes before work. I work from noon until I close up the restaurant so around 11-12 hours of running around, serving and cleaning. I'm hoping that will wear me out enough so I can fall asleep at a decent time and get up early again tomorrow. So far today I've had 40 ounces of water and 1.5 cups mixed veggies and I'm taking a banana, blueberry and almond milk smoothie with me and plan on eating a salad around 3. I recognize a lot of the same users on this site! Its great everyone has stuck with it for so long! |

Oooh yesterday.. not too good and I'm paying for it now. 1.5 cups veggies- 60 Salad- romaine, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, banana peppers, caesar dressing (oopsie)- 180 Bread with olive oil and balsamic- 310 3 pieces special pizza (very thin crust, olive oil, veggies)- 600ish? Had an awesome Easter! Went to our ranch and did a bunch of hiking and playing! Well I picked up some more eggs from the ranch. Raising chickens is pretty awesome! There are 6 of them. Anyway, I had to try them out. Awe thank you! That's very good to hear So I decided to juice today. I'm really craving chewing on something.. anything right now. Not sure if I will or not but it has been 24 hours since I last had solids so hopefully I've gotten rid of some toxins! I also had some protein powder that is made from only plant sources. Protein powder with water- 110 Went for a run/walk... It felt amazing out in the sun! 1st juice- 2 apples, 30 green grapes, 1 beet, 1 cucumber, 2 carrots- 340 2nd juice- 2.5 tomatoes, 2 carrots, 1.5 cups dandelion root, .3 onion, 1 red bell pepper, 1 jalapeno, 4 stalks celery- 200 I feel really good, high on energy and everything I just want to chew something. That's how I know I'm a food addict. I have noticed that being vegan has actually made me get really excited over good, whole foods! |

Well I feel very proud of myself! Last night was really difficult not having any solids.. my mind even started doing that justification thing but I still didn't! Well I had planned on starting the cleanse yesterday because I had the whole day off and was only supposed to work from 5-10 today.. days 1 and 2 have always been the hardest for me. However, a co-worker asked me to cover her day shift so she can go to the doctor, which means I'll be there from 12-10. I'm going to take about 30 oz of juice with me and I know of a fresh organic juice store about 2 blocks away so I might be able to make it through day 2! Oh ya and upon waking this morning I already have fuzzy tongue! That's a sign of detox!!! |

It has now been over 48 hours of my cleanse! I was able to work a solid 11 hours running around today and felt just fine energy wise.. maybe a little grumpy but no one could tell. There were a couple times I caught myself about to pop bread in my mouth out of habbit but was able to stop. I had no time to go get a juice from the place down the street so unfortunately I only had the juice I made in the morning to last me all day. Oh and I weighed myself this morning 140 even :(. Higher than I thought it would be but atleast its going down now.. plus its ttom. 1st juice- 2 small oranges, 1 small apple, 1/2 pineapple, 3 sticks celery, ginger- 350 1/4 c soy milk- 30 1 cup v8- 50 In: 430 <--- I know this needs to be higher, I will drink more juice tomorrow! Out: 3200 <--- I figure this out by taking the number of hours I work and multiplying by 150 because that's about what I burn in an hour of serving minus what I would burn resting, then add in 100 or so for making juice, showering, and getting dressed, and then 1450 for my bmr. Deficit: 2770 I know that's too high. I would never have this big of a deficit if I wasn't cleansing. Oh btw.. a little ginger goes a loooong way when juiced. I should have made some fresh juice instead of having the V8 when I got home but I'm just so tired. I hope I can fall asleep soon because I have another long day tomorrow! Haven't posted in a couple days.. so I worked about 11 hours Wednesday and drank the whole juice. I also had to meet with 2 wine reps and one beer guy for some tastings for the bar (not a good day for being on a cleanse!) After all that I probably ended up having 2 glasses of wine and a beer and I felt way too drunk.. and not in a good way. Wednesday 4/3 Calories in: 1010 Out: 3200 Deficit: -2190 Thursday I did nothing but lay in bed all day because I felt so #%@&!. 10 grapes- 30 1/4 apple- 20 A couple pineapple chunks- 20 V8- 40 Calories in: 110 Out: 1500 - 1390 So I was trying to figure out why this cleanse was so much harder on ne than others I've done in the past.. why did I end up sick? And the only thing different I've done this time was not consume proteinpowder. So I ate a little food tonight and will start again tomorrow, this time working less hours, drinking protein powder, and trying to consume more calories from juice. Monday 4/8 Went over to a friend's and she made us vegan double bacon cheeseburgers. It was really good but I don't think its something I'll be cooking for myself.. it was just too much food and I'm grossed out I ate it all. 2 eggs w/ 1/2 tbs olive oil- 200 2 pieces eziekle bread w/ olive oil spread- 250 Small amount green grapes and pinrapple-50 Fries- 600 Vegan burger- 700? Picked up some green coffee extract and took 2 this morning. Supposedly they're full of antioxidants, increase your energy and have less caffeine than half a cup of coffee. Its a nasty rainy day here, my car's battery went out and I'm still in a great mood! I do feel energetic and so far just a normal, healthy appetite. So far so good! I didn't take any more green coffee and I felt good throughout the day. I usually have a very hard time falling asleep at night but I'm feeling pretty tired now so hopefully I can passout at a descent hour. So.. i haven't posted in a while.. i've been eating pretty regular. I can't remember calorie intake for this last week but everyday has been around 1500 except Tuesday. Tuesday i had a beer show to go to... basically about 30 nearby breweries showcasing their beers to all the local bar and restaurant managers. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! I also learned I like dark beers a lot more than I thought! Anyway I had probably 2200 calories that day. Wednesday 4/17 worked 10 hours Salad w/ romaine, tomatoes, mushrooms, artichoke, onion, candied walnuts and balsalmic v?â?¡n- 170 Bread w/ olive oil and garlic- 450 Pasta- penne, marinara, extra mushrooms and onion- 500 Wine- 600 In- 1720 Out- 2850 Deficit- 1130 Thursday 4/18 only worked 5 hours Cut up some romaine, carrot, red bell pepper, onion and artichoke and had it with hummus- 130 Half cup left over Pasta- 50 Vegan chocolate- 150 Almonds- 100 Bread with olive oil and marinara (i shouldn't have done this)- 550 In- 980 i hadn't realised it was this little Out- 2300 Deficit- 1320 |

Well I locked myself out of my own house Saturday and stayed at a friend's house until I could get a spare. We ate fast food that night and it sent me into a tail spin. I've been eating too much. Today it was all really healthy foods but still too much. I feel like #%@&! and never want to do that again! Time to get back on track! New start tomorrow. Also I think I want to give up wheat. I'll do it for a couple weeks and see how I feel! That means no pasta or bread at work! Here's my totals.. I won't list everything I had because its just way too much! Well I wasn't going to eat wheat today but forgot my smoothie at home and was staaaarving at work so I broke down... Tuesday 4/23 Clementine- 40 Blueberries-30 Strawberries-20 Red and green grapes- 40 Bread with olive oil- 500 Few bites pasta with marinara- 100 Mushroom, zucchini, peas, mixed veggies, olive oil- 120 Mushrooms, romaine, balsalmic vin- 70 2 eggs, olive oil- 200 In: 1120 Out: 2350 Deficit: 1230 Depending on how I feel tomorrow I might try starting a juice cleanse. I think it might help with kicking wheat. Buuut I have to work about 12 hours tomorrow and 10 the next day so we'll see... |

Wanted to post what i've had so far today so I don't forget... Oh and I boiled a bunch of parsley and am cooling the water to drink a glass of it everyday. Its supposed to help detox the kidneys and liver and remove excess salt. Coffee w/ coconut milk- 50 Parsley water- not sure if there are any calories.. 10 at the most? 1.5 bananas, coconut milk blended- 230 Bread with olive oil (#%@&!it) 400 Scramble with sweet potato, mushroom, onion, peas, peppers, water chestnuts, carrots and brocolli in olive oil- 190 880 so far No more wheat for the rest of the day! I know I'll be very disappointed in myself if i do! |

Thursday 4/25 I did so good not eating bread until the end of the night. I need to change my mentallity from i can't have it to i don't even want it. In: 1970 Out: 2950 Deficit: 980 So to calculate my calories burned i take my BMR (1450) and add the difference of calories i burned in each activity and the calories i would have burned sleeping. I am running around cleaning and serving everyday at work and never sit down or stop moving while I'm there. I use 150 as The difference for hours we're really busy and 100 for hours we're not so busy. I always thought that this was probably an underestimate but on my long days it just seems like so many calories burned. Maybe i need to modify it. |

I'm extremely exhausted. If I cut down on fat though I don't think I could eat enough calories in day. But I do want to start keeping track of protein calories or atleast check up on it every once in a while. 47 gr protein I think I'll weigh myself soon |
