Feel free to hurt my feelings. A real man or woman shouldn't be afraid to tell me the truth.

I'm 21 years old and weigh 300 lbs. I also have a medical condition that makes me gain weight easily and have trouble losing it.

If I could post a picture I would, but I don't have one.

Fat stomach, thighs, calves, arms. What do I have that's not fat? Nothing.

I know what people think when they see me, they're just too afraid to say it. That's where you all come in.

OK then...

You are eating twice as much as you should. Since you are young I will start out gently kicking your butt.  I am sure that you had a lot of help getting to 300 pounds most people do but that is still no excuse.

At 300 pounds your appetite is twice as strong as it would be at 150. You need to know that. Even when you lose weight that strong appetite will remain for quite some time. That being the case you can do this the hard way or the easier way.

Your medical condition cannot defy the law of physics so don't use that as an excuse.

Since you are honest I see no need right now to clobber you.

I deffinetly agrees with JSABD... the eatting habits are a HUGE factor. I have found in just loosing the ten measly pounds I have (being 24 and was 225, now 209) even that little bit has made a HUGE difference in how much I eat.
Even now I find myself dishing up more than I think I want. I would focus on your eatting. :)you can do it.. and I am more than happy to be here to help you and offer support but you gotta want it more than anything! YOU have to!

In what regards?

Humans are more the same than they are different.

I don't have to reduce my weight but if I did I would eat less and move more.

I think that your problem is not your weight. Your problem is a psychological issue that you are battling with. You clearly suffer from a low self-esteem and you are punishing yourself by making your body repulsive. That punishment hasn't seemed to satisfy your desire for pain, so you came to this forum, and asked to be belittled and berated. You are not a glutton for food, you are a glutton for punishment. Your health issue is irrelevant, because I have hypothyroidism, which also causes weight gain, but I have been able to lose weight by completely cutting out carbohydrates. Seek therapy. There is a group called Over-eaters Anonymous that you can join for free moral support. Good luck friend!

Self esteem is a myth.  Also I would not make such a leap based on a few posts on a message board. There are millions of fat people and there is no evidence that fat people are any more or any less mentally ill that normal people.

Telling someone that they suffers from low self esteem is just adding more reasons for them to make excuses for not eating less and moving more. Assuming there is such a thing as low self esteem what causes it and what can cure it? The people who have a low opinion of themselves are generally those pro ana types. They really do have mental illnesses.

Zerataku eats too much and if he/she is like most fat people his/her eating is for pleasure. However his/her honesty is a major first step to reforming his/her eating.
