Ok so I am trying to lose some weight. i am pretty heavy set, 210 lbs and 5'9'' but i am thick.
here is my plan:

morning: 30 pushups, bicep curls
oatmeal or fruit or both for breakfast

mid day: 30 pushups
turkey on rye and green beans for lunch

late: 30 pushups, bench press
and whatever my dad cooks for dinner but a limited amount

AND then the next day i jog for like 5 minutes (i suck at jogging)



is this plan ok and healthy?

First, some positive feedback:

It sounds as though you are planning to focus on 'real' foods (even vegetables) rather than junk.
You are incorporating some strength training.

The key to whether you are succesful is whether
(A) you will create a calorie deficit (whether you will eat fewer calories than your body needs: you can use calculators to figure out the exact amount but typically you will want to shoot for 1500-2000 calories)
(B) whether you can stick at it long term - whether there is enough food to satisfy you, whether your exercise becomes a routine part of your life etc.

So learn to like healthy foods (and in particular vegetables, beans and fruit) and find the exercise/activity that you enjoy and are likely to keep up because you want to not because you have to

x2 with Nir, gotta find a plan that you can do forever, thus its a lifestyle change not a diet.  If you can eat those exact foods and do those exact movements everyday for the rest of your life, go for it, but pretty sure that'll burn out real quick. Do some research on healthier food options, eat in a deficit, don't withhold certain things from yourself just eat in moderation and infrequently and you'll lose the weight.  Weight loss is a SIMPLE concept, dont make it any more difficult then it really is by overcomplicating it.  Simple concept but doesnt mean its easy to do without motivation and support

I think you should incorporate more cardio into your routine. If you hate jogging, try cycling instead or sign up for some exercise classes.

I agree, a little more cardio is needed. If you hate to jog I say don't do it, try somethingin else and just keep trying things until you find the right fit. There are all kinds of cardio classes at the gym, some are easy like Zumba or if you want more of a challnege the Kick/matrial arts type classes are fun. Personally I love old fashion step aerobics. If the gym is not your thing have you tried walking instead of jogging? It takes longer for sure but I find it far more enjoyable.What about doing DVD"s at home?  Then there are things like cyclicing, inside or out, roller blading, snow shoeing, hiking, cross country skiing, hula hoops, dancing, basketball, skating, just tons of stuff. Don't do something you hate, find something you love. Just keep looking, I bet you will find it, or them, which ever the case may be. One of my favorite...and this will sound crazy....skipping. It makes me feel like I'm 10 years old again...and I don't care if anyone sees me or not.

This is a great way to start.  After a while, your initial motivation will drop off and it will be harder to stay focused. 

As you lose weight and get in better shape, try to increase your exercise; hopefully, this will give you more motivation, which help you lose more weight, do more exercise and get more motivated!  A great circle to get on.
