I was very succesful loosing weight after delivering twins in mid-1980s because I use the Weight Watchers fast start food exchange diet. Does anyone have a copy that they can email or send me - or do you know how I can obtain this? Weight Watchers does not offer this anymore. Thank you very much! Irenelg3@aol.com |

I have all of that!! I am a packrat. In fact I was just thinking of getting it out again, because nothing else works and my cardio doc has threatened me that I MUST lose weight - after 3 weeks I have lost only 4 lbs and I have to go back to him in two weeks - thus, I need to find my OLD 1980's WW booklets and get busy! I will find and post for all of you, if I am allowed......?? |

Hi, everyone. I've been using Weight Watchers (off and on) since high school (both of my kids are now graduated from high school! lol). It was the only thing that ever worked for me. Now I need to lose 10 pounds that I gained over the last year and my daughter wants to lose more than that. I saw that many people are looking for the old Weight Watchers materials. I still have my planner from the '90s. Here are the food limits/suggestions: LEVEL 1 WOMEN Milk 2; Fat 3; Protein 4; Vegetables 3 (at least); Bread 3; Fruit 2; Floater up to 7; Optional calories up to 350; Eggs up to 4; Meat and cheese up to 16 selections LEVEL 2 WOMEN Milk 2; Fat 3; Protein 4; Vegetables 3 (at least); Bread 4; Fruit 2; Floater up to 14; Optional calories up to 700; Eggs up to 4; Meat and cheese up to 16 selections LEVEL 3 WOMEN Milk 2; Fat 4; Protein 5; Vegetables 3 (at least); Bread 5; Fruit 3; Floater up to 14; Optional calories up to 700; Eggs up to 4; Meat and cheese up to 16 selections If you're interested, I can posted details from the various selections for women, or the overall limits for men or youth. Thanks! |

Hi! Can you remember how many ounces were in each exchange? Was it one ounce? |

I see you posted several months ago, but I hope you still come back to the forum...I would LOVE more details on the exchanges (levels 1, 2, 3 "plan"). THIS is the plan I lost very well on, but cannot find any of my information on it, and have been searching the internet for a while. If I remember correctly, you were "supposed" to take a short quiz at the beginning of the week to see which "level" was best going to suit your needs for the week. I thought this was one of the better "plans" and was very disappointed when it was changed. Thanks in advance for anything else you are able to post! |

I found this site in a search for the old Weight Watchers plan which worked so well for me also. I do remember the exchanges but don't recall how to measure each exchange. How many ounces to a protein and how do I count breads? Is a fat equivalent to the measurement of a serving on the bottle of dressing? If anyone has Information they can share it would be much appreciated. Thanks |

One ounce of protein = 1 protein. In some versions, you could have 2 ounces of fish for 1 protein exchange. 1 fat exchange = roughly 35 calories. Anything else I might be able to help with? |

A bread "exchange" would equal 80 calories.....so, for example, if you are using bread that has 120 calories per slice, one slice would equal 1 1/2 bread exchanges. 3 oz baked potato = 1 bread, 1/2 cup rice/pasta = 1 bread, etc. |

Thank you for posting. I remember this weight watchers as well and I think it is probably one of the best long term options for weight loss and lifestyle change. Will you please remind me what a floater is? Thank you, Melinda |

Did you ever find your 80s booklets? I'm very interested in all weeks, as well as maintenance information. I can't find this anywhere, and of course WW swears they no longer have the information. We know that's a crock. You don't throw out the baby with the bath water. |

i have bits and pieces of a few of the old Weight watchers programs...Unfortunately none of them are in their entirity... I admit to being technically challenged and will need to find out how exactly I can scan and get it posted...or how I can share with those of you asking...If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them. |

I used to love that when you could have 2 ounces of fish for 1 protein exchange. It made me feel as if I was getting a lot more food for my meal. |

I just joined this group and can't say how happy I am it is here. Is there anywhere you can still get the old books, w/the food groups, exchanges, etc. I am a former teacher, and we love checking off little boxes. I used to have the weekly chart on my fridge and lost 35 lbs. using it. I started and paid for 3 months of the new 360, and it's nothing like the old plan. I was on it this last week, diligent about everything, and have gained 2 lbs. I loved it when I would take a can of tuna to work and my 2 pieces of bread, tomato, measured out mayo, and suffered (not really) through it! I felt really good too! Any advice on the old books? Everything here I have read has been so helpful, glad I found this group!!! |

Hi! I don't know if I already asked you this or not. If I did I'm sorry for the repeat. Do you also have the full week menu that was in the middle of Pep Step I think it was called. It was from the late 70's to early 80's time period. A peach colored soft cover booklet that was light orange with a woman's drawing on the front that seemed to fad as she walked. I've been trying to find it for several years and like I've told others, I would be happy to pay for the booklet or a copy of it. Again, sorry if this is a repeat! Take care, Susan hooker1974 |

Just checking!! Has anyone found or know someone who has the late 70's to early 80's pep step program?? I think it's the soft cover pamphlet that is light orange and has a drawing of a lady that fades as she is walking. I know I've asked to find the 1980's booklet/program but wonder if maybe it was already out in the late 70's. If anyone has this I would love to have a copy at least of it!! I'm willing to pay for it! Thanks for listening, Susan hooker1974 |
