Humans have on average 20 molars and if they have their wisdom teeth they have 24. What does that tell you? It should tell you that molars are for chewing.
Humans like other primates were designed through evolution to eat foods that require CHEWING!

Carnivores don't have molars and they don't need to chew but humans do need to chew.
This lion will not eat raw cabbage and neither will most glutton. The lion won't eat it because eating raw is not what the lion needs. A glutton will not eat raw cabbage because for one reason it requires a lot of chewing.

Gluttons eat these. Easy to chew.
CHEW YOUR FOOD YOU BIG BABIES!

I'm curious to know if people like me, Gluttons,Chew in a hurry, instead of enjoying the process, I "attack" or want to "finish" the food... As if I am fearful that there won't be any TOMORROW. The "manner" on how I eat can reveal so many things about me...
I wonder if people here have discover some relationship with the way you CHEW and Gluttony... I am a girl, so it's (not very lady like) hahahaha To eat in such manner... I almost push the food down, only when i'm surrounded about people I eat slower... HORRIBLE TRUTH...Last edited on 8 Apr 2012 12:13 am by frequency

| Because I'm on a very limited budget,I'm on a very boring diet. I just want the eating to be over with, so I eat pretty fast. I just care if it's good for me and fits into my diet, so enjoyment isn't important. Normally I'd whine about it not being fun, but food isn't supposed to be fun. Sports should be fun,I'm sure JSABD would say sex should be fun, but the only reason to eat is to stay alive and keep the weight loss going, no more.

Great to know this, then not all FAST EATERS are gluttons.. hahaha... I LOVE the idea that you see food boring, only seeing food for the purpose it was intended... So when you want to celebrate something, or get anxious about something where does your mind go? what do you like to do in those situations?
Thanks for sharing..

Let me start by saying that you sound like a very worthwhile person.
As to your questions a lot depends on what they eat. Chewing is a form of aggression. Heavy meat eaters often have pent up anger. Most people eat for pleasure first and foremost. They choose easy food high in calories. There is a good diet book called Volumetrics. In it there are pictures of food. The pictures illustrate a point. There will be a plate with a small piece of cheese on it for example next to plate with a big fruit salad. Both have let's say 200 calories but the cheese can be eating in a few bites where it would take much longer to eat the fruit salad. A glutton may pick the cheese because it is easier to eat and familiar.
Eating voraciously served us when we were early humans competing with other animals. Then there was not a lot of high calorie foods available. Humans at bugs and grubs and plants mostly. The we learned to hunt and we ate more meat. Then we farmed. I was part of our evolution.
Even 50 years ago in was not that easy to get fat. People had higher caloric needs and they had less high calorie food available. Today "food" if you can call it that is high in calories and the portions are huge. If people are not mindful about their eating they can quite easily get fat.
Gluttony is much more than a moral failing, so me saying shame on you may not give you the information you need. Unlike most fat people, you are contrite and unlike most fat people you want to own your gluttony and end it. You have elected to become a dieter. Now I would like to help you develop the tools you need to lose the weight and lose the bad habits that keep you fat and gluttonous.
You seem to have accepted full responsibility and while you have many things that you can reasonably blame for your situation you have shown maturity and decided to accept responsibility even though a lot of why you are fat is NOT your fault.
You need an eating plan and I will help you develop the right one for you.
In general what you need to do is select foods that are nutrient dense and low in calories. You will be doing a whole lot more chewing and digesting. You will be eating more frequently. You may even feel stuffed.
Eat 6 times a day. You will calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and you will eat that amount of calories every day. When you do and if you are moderately active you will lose 1 pound per week per 100 pounds of body weight. That is the most a human can safely lose in my medical opinion.
Your meals will consist of wholesome unprocessed food. 60 to 70 percent of your calories will come form plant based carbohydrates. You will eat lean protein in the form of legumes (peas and beans) lean dairy, fish and poultry. You fats will come form healthy sources like nuts and avocados.
High fiber is good.
You will eat minimum of .5 grams of protein per 100 pounds of body weight.
Drink a lot of filtered water and take a vitamin and mineral supplement.

Meal time was a social thing but now many people sit in front of the TV and eat mindlessly.
Beans are cheap and healthy. Chilli con carne can be fairly low cal, tasty and healthy.
Try to extract flavor from the less flavorful foods and reclaim your palate.

ok, well the type of diet is now understood, the times a day as well, wholesome and well, I only had a problem with the fish and poultry, I have been vegetarian for 18 years (not vegan) so i do eat dairy and eggs. My protein is mainly from combination of legums, beans, nuts, CHEESE (now I will have lean cheese as you suggested) and the eggs that they put inside the bread, as I don't eat eggs directly... I have an issue on seeing the animal product in front of me...
But I guess eating the lean organic dairy will be a good choice as a protein intake? what you think? In bread, I am having this sprouted organic bread, without flour called Ezequiel (food for life) that we are now able to get here in Mexico.
I feel, that in my case I can see a real contradiction case, in one side, I irradiate this energy of "let's be conscious of the way animals are killed", let's be conscious of eating organic food", a very nice girl that will not kill a fly... but this cute girl is OBESE?......... WHAT A CONTRADICTION...
it's like if I care about the poverty on china while I live in mexico, and I don't do anything for my neighbors. I attend and look for the wellbeing of the animals on this planet but I am ZERO conscious on how I actually affect my own human family, my immediate family, my own body, ZERO gratitude on my body cells...
it's just so inconsistent to keep been so nice to the animals and so detrimental to my own cells... killing them...
I just never saw the aggression side of me, I thought I was such a pink flower.. jajajajaja

Currently I'm on a no-nightshade diet until the results of some tests come back, mainly relating to allergies. So no tomatoes, peppers or chilies, which is the main reason my food is so bland- it's all I'm used to cooking with! Right now I'm reading up on cooking before they became commonplace, or areas where they're not widely used.
It's so true about the social aspect. I'm on a weird schedule so almost all the meals I eat are alone.I'd rather have a bottle of water with some good gossip than a gourmet meal by myself.

I will have a new mantra..
"I love to have company of friends with a great big bottle of water"... or
"I just enjoy clean water when I'm with friends... jajaja"
