I admit some of my guilty pleasures is reading the cheap magazines with real life stories.

The writing is terrible, however I do find myself wanting to find out what has happened in the lives of ordinary people.

Nearly every week it is a child sexual abuse story, murder, funny fluff stories and of course weight loss stories.

Honestly I'm so sick of these people getting paid stories where they have not put in the hard work of losing weight.  I'm not jealous far from it.

You know what I mean the people who crow about how they lost weight through gastric bypass, getting a tummy tuck and how they feel fab.  Good on them but really they are just saying losing weight is super hard, I got the cash let me splash out on $$$$ to get my stomach stapled and when I have lost weight I can get my flabbed skin cut off.

Now let me sell my story into the cheap mag for $300.

I myself went from 82 kilos down to 74 over two and half years, through eating sensible and exercising.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who :dizzy: at these types of stories.

I feel the same way about them.   They're cheap, poorly written, and lie about the dangerous part of the story.  I feel like it just encourages our insta-gratification obsessed society to become even more short-term minded, which I find extremely socially irresponsible.

I feel the same way, but its rampant in this world and in this forum.  No one wants to put the time in the gym, the difficulty of eating in a deficit, or any other hard work associated with losing fat.  they seek the magic pill, the quick surgery, the "new diet" instead of just doing what they know they need to do.  We are a world of instant gratification, so of course people are going to seek it in one of the hardest areas of life.  Those individuals with these stories of surgery or whatnot, go find them in 10 years and see what their weight is.  Unless one learns the ins and outs behind fat loss, it ain't staying off without a lot of hard work both physically and mentally.
