They are all chemical, and can damage human body. So the question is quite phylosophical: what is better, lose weight, or risk by taking chemical supplements.

Or am I wrong?

Well, it depends on what you mean by supplements.
I drink a protein shake with added vitamins in the morning, take vitamin d and fish oil to make up for the fact I live in Oregon where we don't get enough sun most of the year.
When I'm sick I add colloidal silver to my drinks. I know it's been bashed, but it patches my throat back together when it's torn up.
I think some herbs are basically harmless and some beneficial. If I can get cordyceps, it works better on my dust/ pollen allergies than most otc medications.
Then there are the bad ones like ephedra. Herbal diet pills used to contain a mixture of Ephedra, Green tea ( caffeine) cola nut (more caffeine) and then some caffeine on top of that. It was nuts!

as a trainer and having a lot of knowledge in fitness i say you DON'T use any supplement and stick to a diet plan and a workout routine that will last you longer and will WORK. 90% of supplements are scams and sugar pills the other 10 percent is possible but can be harmful and arnt all FDA approved.keep in touch =]

First of all, not all supplements are dangerous and not all are chemical. Fish oil, olive oil, vitamins, whey protein are all things that are found naturally in natural products.

Taking them and other supplements are not necessarily going to hurt you. If you are going to take supplements then just do your research and make sure you are buying a quality product.

At the end of the day though there is no substitute for fresh healthy food. That is why they are called supplements. They are intended to be used in supplementation to your diet not as a replacement.

There are lots of great supplements out there, just make sure to do the ground work before buying.:apple:
