Hello everyone! I really hope somebody will have the patience to read this topic. It is very important to me and I appreciate any help.
Well... When I was little I used to eat right without any problems what so ever. However, at the age of 3, I moved to Brazil (i was born in the US) and for some reason I simply stopped eating all the healthy foods. I didn't eat anymore fruits or vegetables, but kept eating everything unhealthy. My parents never forced me to eat anything, so I spent my childhood on pasta, sandwiches, pizza, meats, chocolate and potatoes. Finally when I grew older I realized that I had to eat, my diet is embarrassing and I am in the need of losing weight. When I finally tried to eat fruits and vegetables I couldn't eat them! I simply couldn't keep them in my moth, I would gag and sometimes even puke if I tried eating them. I have talked to psychologists and nutritionist about this problem, but they would only tell me the obvious: that I would just have to keep trying and find something I like. It happens that I've been trying for a few years and still have the same problems!
Meanwhile, I am sick of being overweight and I am ashamed of myself! I hate myself for being unable to eat right and to be a good weight because of my poor eating habits. I exercise about 2 hours almost everyday, but its not enough to get me thin.
I have binged and purged quite a few times, I wish I could do it more often, but I don't want my family to find out. I know bulimia is bad, but I feel its the only way that will work for me!
Does anyone have any idea what these eating problems can be? Is it an eating disorder? (not bulimia! I am asking about the fact that I cannot eat) What can I do to get myself to eat right?
Thank you very much for the help!

are you a grazer eating most of the day; or do you only eat at meals but binge until you are beyond full?

have you ever tried counting calories and have you been able to keep your intake to a reasonable level (let's say 1500-2000)

can you make a list of fruits or vegetables you have recently (let's say in the last 3 months) tried to eat?

do you experience the problem equally with raw fruits and vegetables as well as with cooked fruits and vegetables?

I know reactions to tastes and textures changes over time. As a young kid I hated the texture of cottage cheese but as an adult I did not mind it at all.

Well... I usually spend the whole day without eating right (because I am at college all day where there is no good food) and when I get home I binge. But when I don't have class, I only binge if there is something I really like, like cakes, pizza, etc.
I've never tried to count calories.
Yes! Vegetables: carrots, peppers, broccoli, cabbage, wild cabbage, lettuce, celery.
Fruits: apples, watermelon, grapes, blueberries, peaches, strawberries, bananas.
I absolutely hate raw fruits and vegetables and all the ones listed above I only ate raw. I admit I did not have a chance to taste many cooked fruits or vegetables, but I did notice that cooked carrots aren't bad (i can eat them without a problem).

Funny about the broccoli. I was eating cooked broccoli for years before I tried eating it raw (and I did not like it raw at first - it was an adjustment) - and I most of the people I know would surprised that I eat it raw.

Certainly binge-eating is an eating disorder (more so if you cannot give it up when you try)

I guess cooked vegetables and fruit are the way for you to go, at least for now. (or dishes primarily made from them like soups and stews)
