I lost 60 pounds within 3-4 months (i don't remember) 4 years ago. It's really easy! I used to be 220. Everyone shocked at me! Im really happy with my weight and become more energetic than ever. No sick for a long time! Im 25 now and many people think i am 21 or under. lol. I did a colon cleanse 3 times a year and drink aloe vera juice every single day. I helped a few of my friends to lose their weights and it did work! Before that they've been frustrated with losing their weights by simply eating diet food and excerising and none of it worked or just a little lost weights and went back on. So colon cleanse must be a secret key to weight loss! Many people tell me that i should make a blog or something. Anyways. you can ask me for email address to send you my before and after pics because i don't to post my pics on the board.

Hi there,
i just joined this site because of your blog... sounds unbelievable, Can you tell me where to purchase the aloe vera drink or any information about the colon cleansing, is it something which can be done at home or it needs to visit the doctor.

U can find organic aloe vera juice at local health stores or organic grocery market like Whole Foods or Trader's Joe. I have done colonix from DrNatura, but take it with a caution cuz of herbal stimulant laxatives like senna, psyllium husk and cascara sadgra that may cause some unpleasant results such as abdomen pain, dehydration, or something else. So rather than that, I used oxy-powder 2 times a year. Without those herbal stimulant laxatives, you can use Organic Bowel Cleanse from Renew Life. Many of doctors don't believe in cleansing individual's colons with such herbs because they think colon should cleanse by itself, whereas alternative practitioners would recommend that, anyways.

Both colon cleansing and aloe vera keep your digestive system clean. It's possible that after getting in tiptop shape digestion wise, you absorb nutrition better. This can cut down on cravings, and make you eat less. It's well known that toxins are in fat. If you keep absorbing toxins (through a dirty colon) you indeed can gain more weight.

I am not sure that "toxins are in fat". Some toxins are indeed soluble in lipids while others are soluble in water, so I do not know how much colon cleansing actually helps, besides the "funny" feeling :)

I am reluctant to try it and I find it hard to take it seriously as a valid method for weight loss, even if indirect.

What a pile of #%@&!. Colon cleansing is a scam.  Before a person gets a colonoscopy they drink a solution that cleans them out totally.

If it really increases nutrient absorption then it would increase calorie absorption.

I've heard a lot of bad things about colon cleanses. However, I have used them. I think that they shouldn't be used for weightloss. They're supposed to be used to clean out your colon of "leftover" fecal matter. I have a lot of digestive problems, so after doing a week of a colon cleanse, my gut feels much lighter/less bloated. That's all MOST of them claim to do. If they claim to get rid of "toxins" then they're purely scamming you.

A potential problem with colon cleanses is dehydration, so if you're going to do one, drink lots of water.

By the way, I say these things out of experience - I'm not educated in this subject area enough to actually give a good response.

I lost 8 pounds drinking aloe vera juice, I know it's not much but I think its a good result for just drinking juice) I can't believe you've lost 60 (!) pounds though, probably its colon cleanse that worked for you. Aloe vera helps to lose weight mainly because of its laxative effect (LINK REMOVED), it is also supposed to boost your metabolism but I believe that you mainly lose weight because its a laxative. I also think it should be natural juice, not bottled one that also contains sugar, chemicals etc.

LOL I do not think that I could stand the taste of that since I did have to drink that awful stuff before I had surgery. If I had to do a colon cleanse on a regular basis, I don't think I'd be able to handle it.

60lbs in that short period is not a healthy way to lose weight. I am glad you feel great now though, and congratulations on keeping it off. If you lose 60lbs in 8-12 months or even more that is just as amazing. Some of us have had a lot of excess weight for years to think that in just 1 year of diligence you can lose that much weight is amazing enough, no need to find even 'quicker' ways. Even if colon cleansing worked for you, changing the habits that brought on weight in the first place will actually improve your health, there are plenty of thin people that have health problems attributed to their diets and lifestyle, so losing weight in of itself is not the only goal.

Interestingly, here is a claim that Dr Fuhrman attached to the UK version of his 2003 book Eat To Live (are you familiar with him?)

Yes I totally agree. If it worked like you suggest everyone would be doing it and the medical profession would be using it on obese people to reduce their mammoth costs!
Colon cleansing is unnatural and will probable turn out to be dangerous!

It?óÔé¼Ôäós really good to know that you have lost 60 pounds in a very short span of time. I always believe that if you are disciplined enough towards time management and routine for the day then you can maintain your fitness forever. I am providing you some tips to become healthy and fit such as-
1) Eat when you feel hungry and stop eating when you feel slightly full.
2) Eat slowly because it will be good to digest.
3) Eat in breakups and use fibers/salads in lunch.
4) Consume juices, Mangue Afrcaine/ Afrikansk Mango twice a day.
5) Don?óÔé¼Ôäót eat too much in dinner.
After taking dinner small evening walk is required.

out of curiosity searched for Dr Fuhrman and Epilepsy, unearthed this link http://www.prescription2000.com/Interview-Transcripts/2009-07-31-joel-fuhrman-chronic-disease-transcripts.html a transcript from an interview about his "nutritarian approach". Eating some raw seeds and nuts (yes even if overweight) helps with health, including Epilepsy

I lost 50 pounds one time in 4 months. I line danced 3-4 days a week and that was it.  It was wonderful!  I eventually did gain it back.

I have lost 34 lbs since March 3 this time around and am pleased with the results.  I have 23 more to go.  I'm on a low carb plan and attend a TOPS weekly meeting.  I also now drink one Plexus Slim mix a day.  Since the addition of the Slim mix, I found the inches are coming off quickly (and I feel the best I've felt in years)!  WooHOO!

I lost 30 in three months doing a low carb diet. Then I hit that dreaded platue. I gave up on the diet and gained 15 back in three months. So I got back on the diet and started a gym membership. I also am taking a natural supplement that has 6 ingredients in it that have all been featured on Dr. Oz. Ive noticed a difference in my energy level this time.I am watching the pound disappear again and I am sooooo excited.

Love your comment (maybe a bit over-reacting)!! If you are talking about cleaning your "guts" think about the reason why it get that way just to start with. Then are we talking about toxin? Food/fat toxin? Sorry, just don't get it.

The only toxin I can think about are those that come from eating too of poor-fiber food. If for example you have a diet based on "cereals" (pasta, bread, pizza, etc...) those kind of foods attaches in part to your guts, they begin to putrefy and that's the way toxin are generated.

Colon cleansing? Who know if it's bad, but I guess the point is another man. Start implementing a right diet with lots of fiber and you will get the same. No, to tell the truth, you will achieve much better results and clean yourself the right way!!
