For the last few weeks I was eating 1800 calories a day and walking 2 mi. daily. After initially losing a few pounds, I found myself stuck at a plateau. I even gained a pound after five more days. So I cut my calories to 1600 a day and upped my exercise to 4 mi. daily. I will admit that now I'm finally losing again.
I'm able to portion out my calories through the day, but sometimes I find myself starving around 7 pm and I'm out of calories, so I usually run over to maybe 1750 calories. So far I haven't "fallen off the wagon" and binged like crazy.
I'm 46 years old and currently 203 lbs.

Losing weight and not binging sounds great to me! Four miles is quite a walk, how long does that take you? Is it cold where you live? It seems like it's working and you're sticking to it so I say, good on you !

It takes me 30 minutes to walk two miles, so one hour total to do four miles. I break it up during the day, so it's no all at once. So far I'm doing OK with my diet as long as I don't eat all my calories all at once - and especially later at night, when I tend to get the munchies.
Oh, one other thing - I can eat anything I want - chocolate, ice cream, cookies - as long at I stay under 1600 calories. And my diet is working quite well. I've lost 10 pounds in the last four weeks and I'm now working on my second 10 pounds.

What's your goal weight? If you only need to lost 10-30lbs, it will take longer and be harder to do. One thing I've read is to "mix it up" once in a while. Change your foods, change your calories, more/less, etc, etc. Do something so your system doesn't get used to the workout or your meals.
I'm 47 and if I end up at 203, I'd be rail thin and look all skull faced, etc, etc. ;)

Yeah, I've always been on the muscular side, as I've worked out off and on all my life, so if I got down to, say, 175 lbs., I'd look rail-thin, too. However, I'm shooting for 180, and I'm definitely getting rid of my gut, whatever the weight. I do want to workout perhaps three times a week in order to give my body a good shape.
I gained a couple of pounds over Christmas, so I have about 25 lbs. to lose. Slow and steady wins the race, so they say.

Hi, I have about 20lbs to lose also and I have been struggling with being hungry later in the day. I try to drink a ton of water until it passes. I thought I would share and maybe that could help you as well.
Good luck!

Eat a food is very related with psychological. When we are sad some times we eat, when we are happy to commemorate we eat.

Stop to eat suddenly, can to bring "ghosts" that is in our psychologic. Histories bad solved in the past that is masked with food.
It is the reason that many peoples when start a diet suddenly, is very good in begin, but after a long time begin to feel bad.

My suggestion is start a diet with a comfortable rhythm, feel yourself, the sentiments of each diet action, doing a up level in your diet, when you trust in yourself.

Think in your objective, each moment and will be more easy.

I hope that this message help to you.
