Do you know how many suckers buy into these scams? Millions. People are getting fatter and the obesity rate is rising. DO you think if anyone these things worked people would still be getting fatter and fatter and fatter? Use some common sense!

The prescription ones are deadly and have lasting side effects. The OTC one can be deadly with lasting side effects. They simply don't work.

The latest scam is Alli. It blocks fat but it make you sick in the bargain. Full Bar is a scam. Read the ingreedients.

The metabolic boosters can only "boost" your metabolic rate by a few calories a day due to the stubborn laws of physics.

Appetite suppressants usually work on the CNS in a not so nice way. Google Redux and Phen Phen. That garbage killed 1000's and damaged millions.

There is one suppressant that does work and it is called protein. Protein turns off appetite if you eat it all by itself. Eat a can of tuna packed in water and drink some more water. You will feel uncomfortably full. Try to eat 12 hard boiled eggs one after the other. You will vomit.

Protein consumption for appetite suppression is unpleasant so I doubt if many of you will try it more than a few times. You are fat and you want everything to be easy. That is why you got fat and why you stay fat. That is why you are trying to "buy your way thin".  That is why you are looking for a discreet solution that requires no effort.

Here is another appetite suppressant. It is called Humility. Next time you buy some convenient prepackaged slop think about the effect it has on others. Next time you buy fast food think about how lazy that is. Next time you see you hanging gut or your sagging butt think about this.

Ask these kids for weight loss tips and what pills they use.

Ask yourself who the real victims are. It is not you. Stop whining and lying and GROW UP!

This one might be nice in your wallet and you are about to buy that Double Cheese Whopper.

Put this on your TV when you are watching the Food NetworK (porn for fat people)

Get the point? No?

There is nothing wrong with your metabolic rate. There is nothing wrong with your genetics. You simply choose to eat too much. Grow up!

Yes you are right. Even though I gained weight, I still dont have the interest to buy products to lose weight because I know it contains many side effects which is not good for human body. Your post is good and an awareness to others.

sorry about you experiences, you probably were unsuccessful with some of the stuff available on the market, but what you say about eating less is too hard a pill to swallow. Some of us can eat the same as others but gain much more than those others. It just isn't fair. I know that there must be something good available to help us while we also follow your advice to eat less. I agree that we shouldn't go for anything that can have bad side effects, probably something natural would be best along with some better eating habits

People think they can buy their way thin. It is part of their delusions.

First post after a long absence for me here!

Good post and the protein part really hit home with me.  I have only recently awaken to the power of protein. (duh!)  What do you think of using whey protein powders as a supplement?  I am making use of it now (in addition to lean chicken and fish) as a way of packing in more protein without going overboard with the calories.  I'd love to hear your opinion.

Protein contains 4 calories per gram.

Carbs contain 4 calories per gram.

Alcohol contains 6 calories per gram.

Fat contains 9 calories per gram.

Most people require .5 grams per pound of body weight.

Protein is not easy to digest so you can't eat a lot in one sitting.

Protein is a natural appetite suppressant.

:yum:good answer - that's really all the facts in a nutshell. the other good thing about taking a supplement is that it really helps you control the amount you're eating - you drink the shake and you know you're done. I'm actually on them now, and I'm waaaay glad I chose to go that route.
