Since I started this website in 2000 (I no longer own or operate it), I have always tried to be supportive of everyone no matter what method of weight loss they choose. But now I have decided to state my mind about diet pills:
I think at best they are only a waste of your money, and more likely they will prolong your obesity and possibly threaten your health.
The best reason I can think of to use them would be to kick start a new diet plan. A little encouragement to help you along your way. But that's like someone who is training for a marathon starting their daily practice runs in a car. It won't help them when it's time to run the marathon.
Another reason might be to suppress your appetite while you are learning to eat well. But after reading these forums for seven years, I know that almost always the people that turn to diet pills rely almost entirely on the pills to solve their problems.
As I state again and again in the Tutorial:
Learning to eat well and exercise is the only solution to long-term weight loss.
If you have had lasting success with diet pills and would like to share with us, please post a Reply about your success. But don't bother if you haven't been successful for over three months; a year would be better. These forums are full of posts by people excited about their miracle diet pills and quick weight loss, but we rarely hear from them after a very short time.
These are just my thoughts. Just my opinions. And I can't possibly know what is right or what will work for everyone. We are all so different.
But for all the talk about diet pills, and all the money spent on them, I would like to hear from someone who has had lasting success with them. Not just another person looking for a miracle, or someone trying to sell one.
If a diet pill worked as advertised, don't you think the news about it would spread like wildfire? And we would all be thin?
We spend our lifetimes learning bad habits and putting on weight, then get impatient when we can't lose it quickly. Then we get discouraged, quit, and put on more weight.
Try something new. Something better. Something that has a chance to last.
Peter

There are plenty of other places in the forums for that, and I don't want people to have to read through pages of discussion looking for the success stories.

i know that if we say something its supposed to be about our success. I have success but its in another way! I am considering my ABILITY to Refrain from USING the diet pills as a success because it is so easy to say go grab a pill to lose the weight. BUT as you said, we hear of short term losses but then the people just kinda disappear. I am here to state that I will continue to keep myself DRUG FREE and I will lose the weight properly.

But that's not "fast and easy"... and it won't let me have my cake and eat it too. And I hate/don't have time to exercise, so I reject your solution as the only one and will keep looking until I find the perfect diet pill.
Just kidding. I think that you're dead spot on. But I also think that the reality is that as long as someone, somewhere holds out the promise of a "miracle" pill, people are going to line up, pay their money and take their chances.

I beg to differ. Im a military man and needed to drop some poundage. I went to this site and got what I needed. I worked out though 5 days a week and was dedicated. Keep in mind I think most take diet pills and then dont work on their body thinking the pills will do it all. Thats far from it. You put in what you get out! Good luck everyone!

| I agreed with you eating well and exercising is the best way to make your body fit and healthy. I also want to add one more point here is that if we will take the suggestion of some diet plan expert then it will be more beneficial to us as they will suggest us the best way of eating and will suggest us the proper diet. I have taken the diet plan of mydietchef.

Yeah!
I agree with you that Learning to eat well and exercise is the only solution to long-term weight loss.

This is actually inspiring to me to take diet pills, just to prove that they can be used successfully--like that chick who lost 40 pounds eating fast food every day just to show that it can be done.
Hmmmmmmm.....
I really bet that if somebody used them for a shorter amount of time (30 - 90 days) to give them a little edge, while of course eating well and exercising, they would lose significantly more weight than the control group who differed from them only in that they did NOT take the pills.
I think the problem is that most people don't use diet pills this way, I think most people get on them and continue their bad eating habits or over-use the pills for too long. But I bet you anything, they could be used as a little supplement to an already-good plan.
It all depends on how the pills are used, they could surely be a tool for success if used properly.

| But then what is it that makes people not use them properly do you think? Because it seems like that always happens.... okay, not ALWAYS, but a lot! What's going on there? I wonder... seriously, I really wonder.

Yeah, I suppose that's it. That sounds like the most plausible. Interesting though, I have been reading the apidexin thread, and it sounds like a few people, presuming they are telling the truth or basically telling the truth, have used those pills successfully, combined with proper diet and exercise. I wonder why they aren't posting in THIS thread? Oh well, the world works in mysterious ways I guess. I really do think THIS is an interesting thread though. I wish somebody would post an actual success story, I mean, I find it hard to believe that EVERYONE sucks and abuses the pills and still eats five million big macs and figure that some phentermine will counteract it, I mean we can't ALL be that silly, right? There's GOT to be someone that integrated diet pills successfully into a decent lifestyle plan. SO WHERE ARE THEY?
Dang it, feels like I'm Tom Leykis waiting for the phone to ring.

| In hindsight, even if I did find a "miracle pill" I'd rather lose weight the diet and exercise way. I did try a few diet pills in the begining because I wanted an easy out. Yes diet and excercise are hard, but now I know how to keep the weight off for life, with no help but my own knowledge.

Sorry, I don't know anything about diet pills except that countless times I have people become all excited about using them, only to fail and end up putting on more weight.

Okay, Mr. Peter, I ordered those pills right after I posted that this was inspiring me to try to prove that they can be used successfully, and they still haven't arrived, but they should be getting here any day now!
I will let you know what happens.
I am convinced that I can use them successfully. LOL, maybe nobody else on the entire planet will be able to do it, but I will!

Okay, well, the pills arrived today. I ordered apidexin. Seemed all right, nothing crazy special or unusual, but the price was right. Actually the price on anything is about right these days, seems like I always have a surplus of money, but that's a whole other story.
I know I am super-sensitive to stimulants, and I have been reading some people having horrible reactions to apidexin when they take the whole daily dose, which is two pills, one before breakfast, and one before lunch, so I decided I would start off with a really small dose because I can always take more but can't take less once it's down the hatch. So, I opened up a pill, dumped out all the powder and took about a third of it. I think each pill is 500mg, so I took about 167mg, which is about 20% of the daily dose they say you can take.
Anyway, I guess I'll move all further comment to the apidexin thread, since this is supposed to be for success stories where you tell what happened at the end, not on the way. I am confident though that I will be able to post as a success story! Mark my words!

| Hey I have been on Slimquick for just over 3 months and I have lost 31 lbs. I do exercise and I am following their online diet plan. I know I would have lost weight by exercising and eating properly, I just don't think I would have been as consistant and have lost this much weight. I am thrilled with the results this far and I am feeling really happy. It may not be for everyone but as a first time user I can't say enough good things about it. Good luck to all of you trying to lose weight-I definitly know how hard it can be.

Great!
I highlighted the line in red because the point of this thread is to say that you aren't likely to be successful at weight loss just by taking a pill.
Keep up the good work!

I totally agree- I don't think there is a magic pill out there. I have always worked at losing weight- it's just this time I am seeing amazing results. I am spreading the love. Go Girl!!!!

I was reading about them and of course they sound good, but dont they all? has anyone ever tried any of these and does anyone know of any possible harmful side effects? i'm not obese or anything and just want to lose around 10-15 lbs so these might not be for me either... just thought i'd ask...

Hi ,
Thank you for your post. I totally agree. I prefer having to eat with the right food, right calories and good exercise.
I have loose 100lbs in almost a year now, so you might say its pretty slow, but hey, I am more healthy than anyone else is.
Cheers
Amy

| I've had my best results with hoodia. I use only the best hoodia out there. I get so many people that email me from my blog and claim they use real hoodia. All I know is hoodia works only if it's the real thing. Other than that. I did lose 17 lbs with a green tea pill but it just was too expensive.

| These success stories are definitely inspirational but people must not also forget that taking diet pills or diet programs/palnners are automatic solutions to weight problems. There are specific diet programs and medication for a specific individual which means what works for me does not mean it will surely work for you since there is still a lot of factors to consider like metabolism rate, body type etc. Always check on a diet expert or undergo diet coaching to know what's right for you. One example is Christopher Guerriero. There are a bunches of other experts too but he's the only one I know since he's the most popular. Good luck to everyone and once again this post has been very inspirational!
