Ok I dont give into diet pills, but Ive been doing a little research on Alli and I really want to give it a try. Ive been working out faithfully 6 day a week for allmost 3 months now and eating healthy. Its hard for me to lose weight, maybe because I have diabetes. Anyways, I was just curious if anyone really has had any success with Alli. I do everything right, I just want a little help. :) Thanks a bunch!!!

Before starting on any drug consult your doctor, and talk him, specifically if your a diabetic. Some pills might not work with Alli, but only your doctor can tell you that information. So I guess it's time for a check up now isn't it?

Hi, I'm new here and also diabetic.  I have also done a little checking into Alli, but haven't tried it yet.  My doctor offered to put me on Xnenical, but I was scared off by all the side effects.  I would like to know how your doctor feels about it and if you decide to go on it.

HI , I am diabetic as well and took xenecal for a while ( prescription Alli). You will have no problem with you diabetes but you will have some very nasty side effects if you dont' cut out the fats and carbs in your diet ...oily secretions and oily gas discharges . I did loose a little weight with the product but not enough to deal with the side effects .

Alli is the same as xenical just in a lower dose.  it will have the same side effects of xenical.  the purpose of them is if you eat alot of fatty foods or foods w/ high fat content then they will just go right thru your gi track and you will have what I call GI Belly.  Hope it helps some.

I can't answer that question, just keep in mind that even though you may be doing a lowfat, you could still have those side effects. So if you choose to you use, just be aware you could have those things happen regardles.

Alli is the only FDA approved, over-the-counter weight loss product. But it?óÔé¼Ôäós more than just a pill. The alli works by preventing your body from absorbing some of the fat you eat. More than two-thirds of the U.S. population is overweight, resulting in increased risk for serious diseases. GSK Healthcare introduces a new approach to weight loss, alli help overweight people to weight loss gradually. allnutri.com/alli.aspx.

I have not taken Alli.  I did some reserach on it and didn't like the side effects.  I found a pretty decent article on alli at  The Diet Pills Report. http://the-diet-pills-report.com/articles/hype-about-alli-orlistat-be-believed

I think there might be better options out there.  I'm currently very interested in Orvo which combines a bunch of "superfoods"  Has anyone tried Orvo?

I just saw an ad for Alli and so I did some research... it seems it only works on the fat you eat so if you already eat a low fat diet I don't think it would do much?

The side effects also make me nervous. But I would like to know if anyone has had good results with it. I kind of feel like after you stopped taking it, your calories would go right up, which would make it very easy to gain all the weight back.

There seem to be some side effect associated with using Alli.

I guess it's hard to know for sure without trying it myself....although this woman give a good run down of her experience with the product: http://www.dietsinfocus.com/videos/alli-weightloss-review.html

I've been taking them 3 times a day and have limited my calories to about 1200. I weighed 200 pounds on August 6 and today Auguste 20 I weigh 196. I thought weight loss would be faster than this with my low calories.

My problem is that I get no side affects at all. It makes me think it isn't working. I wonder if I need to eat more fat.

Do you have any reason to suppose that your body is burning substantially more than 2200 calories a day with the current level of exercise you are undertaking? I ask this because losing 2lb a week is consistent with a 1000 calorie deficit and you say you're eating 1200.

The drug you are on helps people to eat a relatively low fat diet by making their lives very unpleasant when they eat fat. You seem to have already "cracked this nut" by not eating too much fat. Your question though makes it appear that you do not understand what the drug is for so perhaps you should follow one of the links provided above to refresh your memory of why you're taking this drug. Ultimately, if you feel confident enough that you can stick to a low fat diet you could just discontinue using this educational tool.

Oh, and 2lb a week isn't bad given that women typically lose between 1lb and 1.5lb when creating a calorie deficit.

No, actually I'm saying you should be eating 1200 but do more exercise. Eating too little is counter productive as it slows down your metabolism, exercise boosts your metabolism.

I'm also saying that you should be happy with 2lb a week. That's 100lb a year. At that rate you'll weigh 0lb in 2 years, right?
