weight gain during period???

This is the first time I"ve done the HCG diet, and I've been on it for 2 weeks.  I am a vegetarian so my weight loss has been slower than those who are following the "regular" plan (all I can eat for my protein is eggs).  I expected this to happen and although it's frustrating, am ok with it.  HOWEVER, I am starting my period and have GAINED 2 lbs in the past 2 days... still following the diet plan.  Has anyone else GAINED any weight during/right before their period?  This is so incredibly frustrating...  I know it might be water weight from bloating or whatever but it's still really frustrating to work so hard and see the scale go UP... anyone?!?!  Thanks...

YES!! I usually gain around 5 lbs during my time of the month.I start gaining weight and get very bloated as well.But i think that just part of being a woman.The good thing is that you'll lose that weight once youre period is over and be back to your normal weight in a bit.Yeah it's very frusterating to see all of your efforts get erased in a matter of days.But dont worry the real you comes back :smile:

Oh sorry i'm not on the hgc diet,i'm on a different one.But i really cant see it being any different for you then it is for me.I'd say keep doing your shots during your monthly if youre able to.Or if youre like me and pretty much incapable of moving without feeling like your insides are being ripped out lol , then just wait untill you feel good enough to do them.But yeah,ithink pretty much every woman has bloating and weight gain durring aunt flo's visit:tongue:

the HCG diet is a 500 calorie a day (VERY specific as to what you can eat, the combinations of food, etc, google it...it's way too much to explain here) diet where you suppliment with a shot of HCG daily...

 

and i realized the the weight gain was due to unintentional sugar consumption... i was told i could have agave nectar as a sweetener so i started using that stuff in my coffee, only to discover that i cant have it during the phase i'm in now... so i've been using a lot of that stuff in the past 2 days (coincidentally at the same time as i'm bloated from my period) and so i'm sure the gain has to do with that... so i've stopped using it but it's so frustrating to have been trying SO hard only to discover that i slowed my progress a lot without consciously even doing it... ugh.

My doctor doesnt want me to do the injections during my period..  it was very frustrating because I started my period just 2 days into the diet...  I missed 3 shots and still lost weight.. but it was in my fiirst week so it is plausible that it was still my water weight.. 

I asked the dr why it was important for me to skip my injections during my period  and I was informed that it is very important cuz as a woman you need the hormones that time of the month produces...  I'll see in a few week if I am affected by it...

There is a way to substitute Ezekiel bread and Quinoa for meat because either one of them is a complete protien. Check out some of the results Steve and Sandy are having there. They have lost a combined total of 170lbs in about 8 months with the Vegan HCG Protocol!
