After spending several hours searching the forums, I couldn't find any real current Hoodia discussions (Dec 07 was the last one I saw). I would love to hear how other folks have done with it.
I purchased HoodiThin on Sunday and received it in the mail on Tues (Today), that was a good start! I have been reading a lot about it, I work 12 hour mid shifts and have time to spare and to think about food :( I purchased it after reading about it in a buyers guide at http://hoodiagordoniiguide.com/hoodia_sitemapg.htm. This company provided 2 independent lab certifications as well as a certificate for the specific batch you recieve and a "permit" from south africa to access the hoodia. It was pricey though $60 per bottle. But the site specifically says pure hoodia is not cheap and if it is under $25 beware b/c it probably has more filler than hoodia.
So far I really haven't felt anything. The instructions say 1-3 droppers full (I purchased the liquid form), I started out with 1 dropper full in the morning w/ breakfast of yogurt and was hungry 3 hours later. I took another dropper full and waited a long hour and ate lunch and now I think I am hungry again. I have read that it takes some time to get into the system though but I also hear it is instant. It might be my perpetual boredom at 12:30 am and the smells of all the take-out food that everyone else in the office is eating. I think I have a real problem of knowing when I am truely hungry and when something just smells/looks good.
I will definately will use it all since I paid so much for it and give it my best opinion.
I hope to hear about other folks who have used it recently and their experiences.

Today is the second day of taking Hoodia and I think it has finally kicked in. I took it right when I got up and then again approx 8 hours later when I started to feel hungry. Don't get me wrong though, I still had breakfast and lunch but the desire to snack is gone...I don't feel full per say but it is more of a feeling that my stomach just disappeared! No sensations really at all.
I will keep the updates coming. I would still love to hear how it worked for others.

I wasn't very good about taking the Hoodia over the weekend, only really got it in the AM but I really think it is getting into my system and working. I took it this morning 1hr before I ate and haven't felt hungry at all. I am still fighting the urge to eat just because there is food around. That is proving harder than I thought, especially with so much free time at work. I broke down today and had a big of Chex Snack Mix (210 cals) ouch! So I guess I have to double my efforts for the rest of the day.
Would still love to hear how Hoodia worked for others!

I bought a 6 month supply of Miracle Burn that is supposed to have the real Hoodia in it and I found it on a few websites stating it really works. Great testimonials and everything. And it costs about $45 a month. Cheaper of course the more you buy at once. Well, I haven't noticed any change whatsoever. No extra energy, I could take this and pass out right afterwards. Also, I am still hungry ALL the time. So please keep us updated on what you are taking.

| I use a cheap one I found on ebay that claims to have a lot less filler in the capsules, plus it was dirt cheap. It doesn't make me less hungry but for all three days I've been on it, my desire to gorge at night has all but vanished. I don't want to jinx myself, though...

I am writing an article for an online magazine called SheKnows (http://www.sheknows.com) about Hoodia and Green Tea diet pills. Has anyone used them who can answer a few questions for me? I will be writing about their efficacy, side effects, etc. and I need anecdotal evidence. I would really appreciate any input, you can be any size, any age, but I would prefer women because it is a magazine directed towards women. You can respond via email or through this forum. The deadline for the article is Friday, May 9.

Hi there, I am not an advertisement!! I joined today and introduced myself in the intro thread. Anyways, I have been using hoodia for over a month now with great success. I did a whole lot of research before purchasing. My only suggestion is there is a link somewhere in this thread I believe and it offers true hoodia. Mine is by millenium health. Only thing I do is double the dose that they advice.
I have changed my eating habits tremendously, and also incorporated exercise . I would suggest to stay away from anything on ebay!
Lucy :O)
Just checked the link in this thread and its not the one I was thinking of, but somewhere on this site there is a link to it.
Edited to add this link...there is a page on this site that leads you too another site, and that is the hoodia I use millenium health:
http://www.hoodia-advice.org/pure-hoodia.html
hope that this okay mods?

Hi Lucy,
Thanks so much for your input. I will use the site in my article. Do you mind answering a few quick questions via e-mail or phone? You can e-mail me first at lexilizz@yahoo.com, and let me know if over the phone is okay and if you don't feel comfortable with that, I can just send you the questions to your e-mail. Thanks again!

Hi!
I am writing an article about Hoodia and Green Tea diet pills for an online women's magazine (sheknows.com). Do you mind if I use any of your quotes about Hoodia in the article? If so, I would need name, age and contact info (e-mail is fine) and you can e-mail them to me at: lexilizz@yahoo.com. Glad to hear it's working for you!

Hello everyone! I have been reading here for a while but finally got around to registering. I just wanted to say that I bought some of the Powerslim hoodia through the link on this site, and started taking it on Monday (5/12). I didn't notice much if any effect on Monday (took 1 400mg capsule in the morning and another in late afternoon). Tuesday I upped it to 800 mg AM and PM and did begin noticing that my appretite was significantly reduced. Today is Friday (5/16) and I can safely say that the hoodia has continued to blunt my appetite. I have been eating and drinking "by the clock" since otherwise I do find myself not eating until my stomach is growling and a hunger headache starts to set in.
So, I would say that for me, the hoodia really is effective. I would recommend that if you try it, do pay attention and be sure that you are eating and drinking enough.
Also, I am not selling anything--just really appreciate this website and wanted to thank Peter and the others for making this resource available and encourage others who want to try hoodia to buy it through the link here and help Peter get a little financial support! I have learned a lot from reading here, especially about the importance of getting enough calories, and am finally seeing some success in weight loss.

Initially I didnt notice anything either, that is why I doubled my dose then it worked. I have noticed that durning my PMS when the hormones are begging for sweets and salts ...that I have had to up my dose to triple what it says.
She Knows, I am not willing to give out personal information. Not sure what all you are wanting to know so you can pm me.

I took a Green Tea with Hoodia supplement for a good while. I really don't think it made much of a difference. Regardless, I stopped taking it because my preexisting insomnia became worse. Once I quit taking it, I was able to sleep better.

Lucy, thanks for the info! I will try increasing the hoodia dose to fight the PMS munchies that are just around the corner for me and see if I can avoid undoing the rest of the month's good work at the end of this month.

I've been on a 5 year mission to keep fit without exercise. Needless to say, hoodia is one of the products I tried, unsuccessfully I might add. Seems to me, without exercise I'm not going to loose this weight I've gained. I've tried a few other products as well over this period of time, but with no results.
Anyone out there have anything to suggest other than the obvious?Last edited on 30 May 2008 05:01 pm by

Well the only way to lose weight without exercise is by consuming less then the body requires. I did that two years ago for about 4 months, and it worked, lost weight, however, I gained it back over the two years. Not only that, but it definately does not keep one fit, it merely makes you thin. When I hear the word fit, I think toned, and that requires some form of exercise. I think lots of folks dont like to exercise, I know I dont, but I have learned its necessary.
I would suggest you use the link under products for the hoodia site it leads to. You need to really do your homework when it comes to this stuff. So many fake certificates out there, however, the ones offered through the link is the real McCoy as they say. As I have said before stay away from pretty much all product on ebay, and the majority in department stores are not what they say they are.
Good luck on your quest ...sorry I wasnt much help

I would just like to agree with Lucy on trying the hoodia that is available through the links on this website. As far as I can tell, it is the real deal. If it's a placebo it's a darn good one. I find that the hoodia has been very helpful in keeping my calories in the 1500-1700/day range. Now my tastes are changing to where I actually don't even want sweets and high-fat foods any more and am really enjoying veggies, fruit, yogurt, and meat or fish.
I have gone from 165 to 145 in 3 months without a lot of effort, although of course I am exercising moderately--burning maybe 1500 cals/week. I am 5'9" and didn't have a lot to lose in the first place, so the hoodia is especially helpful in getting rid of that stubborn "last 10 pounds". I haven't been below 155 pounds since I stopped smoking three years ago, and now I am just about back to my smoking weight and getting ready to go to maintenance instead of weight loss. I bought 3 bottles of hoodia and probably will give the 3rd bottle away since I am now doing well controlling my appetite even when I forget the hoodia.
So, hoodia is obviously not a miracle weight loss solution by itself, but seems to be a relatively safe and effective tool for retraining yourself and developing new healthier habits.

I've just recently neem using hoodia prime and so far I have experienced good results. I do lots of cardio and have been following a strict diet so I think those have a lot of contributions too.
The verdict is still out but in my experience, its been ok so far.

My boyfriend and I tried hoodia prime and we're seeing results not only in our bodies but also in our appetite. I, for one, am a really big eater and used to be at the butt end of my friends' jokes coz I can finish my plate and theirs.
This hoodia product that I tried worked quite well. I take 2 per meal ... my boyfriend takes more coz he's bigger. He had to increase it when he felt that nothing was happening yet. So far, what I can say is that it has helped me majorly on cutting back on my food intake. I used to get hunger pangs every couple of hours but now my mind and body can easily decline food when I don't need it. I even skip my usual desserts. Here's my blog...you might wanna check out more about my weight loss happenings - hoodiafreak.wordpress.com
So I'll just continue to monitor my body and what's happening to it and what hoodia's doing for me or what it doesn't and keep on updating you.

Hoodia didnt really work for me.
I think I am a unique case - Hoodia is supposed to effect the brain and cut out cravings for foods.
As I am reasonbly large and a food a holic - this is not really a sleight on Hoodia. It just means I probably need and industrial stregth version.
But...
It seems to be working for my wife and sister. They started dieting at the same time and tell me that their cravings for foods have dramatically descreased.
A lot of Hoodia info can be found here hoodiaguide.co.uk - a lot of products do not get a very favourable review though.
I think my problem is alcohol - I am not sure if Hoodia decreases the need for beer.

here is the link to the product mentioned on this site .... as I said way way up at the top of this conversation, you need to do your research on this stuff, however this is the real deal:
http://www.hoodia-advice.org/
this is what has passed unbiased testing from health based websites at their cost. I use the hoodia hoodia by Milllenium Health. It works.
Most hoodia out there is limited in the hoodia in a pill and full of other junk, and much of the hoodia is pure sawdust. Reasearch.

Reply, yes, however, I have always taken more then the box suggested. During my time of month I will triple it, otherwise I double it. Also though in the beginning when I was more gun ho, for lack of a better term, I was exercising 8km(5miles) 5 times a week, plus eating hardly anything but protein and fruit, veggies.
Now I am slacking in exercising, and carbs enter my life on occasion, however, this week is a new week, and gonna atleast do 15 miles a week.
Are you using a true and trusted brand? There are bogus sites out there that will say hese are the the top 5 when all 5 are owned by the same company and none have a nickels worth of hoodia...there is one site and I will try to find it , its a non profit health site that does research on all sorts of claims and hoodia is one of them, it lists several that have passed the testing on more then one occasion.

I am using Desert Burn...I am thinking on changing to the Hoddia Hoodia like you use...
Now you say you were hardly eating was that b/c you were not hungry b/c of the hoodia or just not eating in general?
Also when you say exercising 5 miles 5 times a week do you mean you ran 5 miles 5 times a week?
How much weight did you loose in how long?
Thanks for answering all my questions!

I have a recumbant bike that I ride while watching tv or reading ect...so yes 5 miles 5 times a week, which took usuallly 15-20 minutes depending on how many mph I was going.
The first time I used hoodia about a month prior to giving it another go around, I gave up as I was following directions on box, and after a couple days really didnt notice anything. So I said f it.
Started again as I read it could take a few days to notice effects, plus I double, I might even have trippled the dose on start, but now its double the dose, except during pms, then I tend to triple it especially evening.
Once it took effect I had no desire to eat. But I ensured I did.
I have been slacking pretty much all summer in all areas but since april 5th I have lost 30 pounds.

Oh thank goodness!!! I need to loose exactly that (30 pounds) after my baby who will be ONE in a month..I have not done very well with the dieting as you can see! LOL...and I seriously feel nothing...i am still just as hungry...Desert Burn says take 1-2 caps before each meal and do not exceed 6..... so i take 3 at 10am and 3 around 5pm....NOTHING!
I think I am going to up it today to 4 and 4....I am just concerned it says do not exceed 6...does your bottle say not to exceed a certain #?

What about the range of Hydroxycut products, which are largely based on Hoodia.
Anyone have any experience with these? Particularly the Hydroxycut Max verison, which is the more potent version.
http://www.hydroxycutmaxreviews.com/ has some good initial information, but would be great to hear some real first hand experiences on the use of this product also.
