Hello, I'm new to the board and wanted to share this with you.

I brought the New SlimQuick with Hoodia 10 days ago and haven't experience any bad symptoms. I'm currently at 266lbs, down from 271lbs since using it. I take 2 pills in the morning before breakfast and 2 before dinner. For breakfast I eat 2 turkey sausage with 1 egg whites and wheat toast no butter. If i snack before lunch it will be 1 apple or a piece of beef jerkey. Around this time, i'm already consuming (5) 8oz glasses of water or more. And i havent reached lunch yet. For lunch I'll eat a light spinich salad with low-fat dressing and a cup of raw carrots and walnuts. MORE WATER at this time. I usually don't snack after lunch, because by then, I feel SOOO FULL due to the pill ,breakfast and lunch. I do have TONS of energy that i sumtimes forget to eat. I have Yoga classes 2x a week for a hour. So my excerise comes from that and i'm very active at work which requires me to walk alot. by the time dinner comes, I 've already took my evening pill and ready to eat a lite dinner, usally something with lots of protein and FIBER like chicken or fish. NEVER FRIED always baked. NO CARBS unless its from the wheat bread i eat in the morning. I don't have any of those horrible symtoms must of you have. I drink close to a 1-2 gallon of water a day (hard to do at first but its basically 1-2 glass of water every 30 mins til bed time). NO SODA, NO TEA. Not even Diet soda, which is just as worst as regular soda. I drink water, water and water daily.

I had to change my eating habits! Eating lots of healthy foods and nothing but water or protein drinks. in the last 10 days i've seen soooo much change. My skin is glowing and even. I don't have any dizziness or headaches that most people said they experience on diet pills.  I do have to use the restroom more than ever now, but thats due to the water. I can tell that this pill HELPS with the process of losing weight...its not a magic pill in the bottle...but it is a assistant to shedding the weight!

Everyone is different with the reaction of any pill you take...but  I'm loving it and i really do see a BIG differenc in just 10 days...

I'll continue to post my progress weekly!!

I have taken the Slim Quick pills for 2 weeks now, and I really like them. I can't take a lot of the diet pills because they make my heart race. The Slim Quick doesn't do that, and I have found that drinking water certainly helps my appetite. I am up to 4 liters of water a day, and down to one diet soda a day. I am getting married in October, and I need to lose some weight, but I really need to get healthy.

How much weight have you lost on Slim Quick?

As of Today, i weighted in at 253lbs. So from december 14th,07 til now, I lost a total of 18lbs. I think thats really good concidering the fact that I've never lost that much on anything in my life. I'm not going to say I lost this weight soely on the pills, of course, you have to eat healthier and excerise regularly to see the results. But the pills most definatly helped in achieving the lost as well!

Keep at it and keep me inform on your progress!!!

I weighed at work yesterday and according to our scales (the medical ones, with the slide weights), I have lost 17 lbs. I realize that a lot of it is water weight, but I plan on continuing. Since taking the Slim Quick pills, I have noticed that I can't eat fatty foods without feeling sick. I like that! I thought I wanted a cheeseburger Saturday at work, so I ate one and then got sick afterwards. I felt awful!! If I eat well, I don't feel sick at all. I am also continuing to drink my water, and exercising is a big part of it!

You keep up that routine and you will lose as much as you want.  Low calories, an appetite suppressant to curb appetite, and exercise will be effective as long as you can keep it up.

I take cymbalta for depression, I am wondering if slimquick w/Hoodia is ok to take.  By the way, Proactal hasn't done a thing for me.  It's time for me to try something else.

I took my first pill this morning.  On the bottle is says 3 pills twice/day, but I thought I would start out with 2 twice/day, and honestly I don't even think I needed the second two.  Two pills totally curbed my appetite all day. It greatly reduced my hunger and I barely wanted to eat today.  I had 1/2 bowl of cereal with skim milk and a bowl full of muskmelon and green grapes.  I need to force myself to eat something for supper, but honestly I'm not even hungry.  And I'm usually very sensitive to stimulants (even coffee), but this has none of that.  It does give you a little energy in my opinion, but it's not at all jittery.  Well, we shall see if it works this good in the long run.

Well, it seemed to work really well the first couple days, not so well anymore.  I don't know why.  I think I might take a couple days off, then try again.

I bought slimquick with hoodia supplement today and I just took my first dose. I will keep everyone posted. I have been losing about 2-5 ounds every week without it, so we shall see what supplement added does for me :)

I've had the SlimQuick Hoodia for a while, I only took it on and off, because I just dont like having to remember to take pills before every meal, too much of a hassle for me.

And I didnt get any results from taking it.

If I could stick to it and actually take them like I'm supposed to it would probably work.

I have a bunch left.

Funny that tonyj said this.  A friend of mine insisted that I try this stuff.  Well I did and let's just say that a few weeks ago when I started I was around 145 and now I am at 149...???  But I have no faith anyhow in any pill.

Hi All,

I have been taking Slimquick with Hoodia for a little while now. I really like the product but I have noticed that I MUST exercise to see any results. I can't give you an exact number as far as how many lbs I've lost because I don't believe in scales, but I can say my jeans have been a little looser these days..  Routine goes as follows: Wake up, take 2 pills immediately. I then typically run about 2+ miles in the morning before work. Come home, drink a bottle of water & eat a slice of whole wheat toast with raspberry preserves. No butter! Small lunch. Either a salad &/ or soup. (nothing creamy) If I run a lot that morning I'll allow myself to have turkey & swiss on a whole wheat wrap. Lots of water! I tend to see better results when I take one pill before lunch, and one before dinner. I like doing this because I have noticed it takes me a little longer to fall asleep when I take both pills before dinner.

You need to be careful where you buy Hoodia.
According to this article, http://the-diet-pills-report.com/articles/real-scoop-hoodia-gordonii-diet-pills , there is a lot of fake Hoodia out there.
Only buy Hoodia from a reputable supplier or from a local health food store.  And make sure you ask how they know their product is the real deal.

Good luck to everyone.

Well, I just bought my first bottle of Slimquick with Hoodia.  A few years ago I tried Meridia.  It really helped me but I got cotton mouth and my heart raced.  I thought no pain, no gain.

I just went through a divorce 2 years ago.  Got depressed and turned back to food. :crying:  I just turned 40 this year and I am 40 lbs overweight.  I have a gym membership but have no ambition to go.  I need to do something.  I was asked the other day how far along I am.  This stranger thought I was pregnant.  That does it!!  Tomorrow, I am starting the slimquick diet.  Right now I am 177lbs.  I'm only 5'4 and I should be around 130 or so.  No more diet pepsi :sodapop:, no more mcdonalds:pig:.  That stuff is addictive.  No more pizza :pizza:(I ate two 9" pizzas with extra cheese in a week.  How wrong is that??!!)  From now on, H20 will be my best friend along with other healthy foods.

SO, I will monitor my progress and let y'all know how I do.  Wish me luck.  I hope by the end of my journey, I can change my profile name from "toobig"  to "justright".

Should you really be taking diet pills if you're 145 lbs anyways? Probably not. Did you exercise and eat right? Probably not.

Hey there Pixie,  just so you know, I did and do exercise and eat pretty darn good.  I have alread lost approx. 50 pounds and happen to be at a plateau.....happens to lots of us once we get close to our goal weight.  I 've been going to the gym 3 to 6 days a week for 10 months straight now, and although I've not lost any weight, I've got some muscle definition starting.  Slimquick is garbage like most diet pills.

I was curious if any of you continued to have good results with SlimmQuick?  I have asked my family to give up sweets and soda for the month of January, but need a little help with curbing appetite.  I don't want to be on anything long, just need help in the beginning.

Thanks, Amy

Try a good power bar high in protein or protein shake. Either one of those will curb your appetite and is much better for you than diet pills

Is there on you recommend?  I really do want to do it the healthy way.  I have suffered with Bulimia for a very long time(I abused diet pills and laxatives), but had stopped for the last couple of years and gained a lot of weight.  I don't want to go the diet pill route because I don't want to start the bad cycle over again.

I went to reserach this Slimquick with Hoodia that you speak of and found that its active ingredients are as follows:

Vitamin D

Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate/Citrate)

Certified Authentic South African Hoodia (hoodia gordonii) (aerial stem)

Green Tea Extract (leaf)

Vitamin D and calcium could easily be obtained in a multivitamin, and the green tea extract could easily be obtained by, well, some actual green tea, so really the only extraordinary thing in this pill is the hoodia gordonii.  I went to wikipedia and found the following information about hoodia gordonii, namely, that it has not been proven to help with weight loss:

There is no published scientific evidence that hoodia works as an appetite suppressant in humans. Animal research on hoodia includes one published scientific study in which a purified extract of Hoodia Gordonii, known as P57, was injected directly into the brains of rats.[7] The author of the rat study said that P57 was easily broken down by the liver, so it might be hard to take in enough of it to ensure that it had an effect. MacLean cautioned that currently available supplements might be inadequate, stating "I question whether there is really enough of the active ingredient in there to do much."[8] However, upon further review and in vitro experimentation it was found that P57AS3 was generally not inhibited metabolically by human liver enzymes and has a relatively high secretion rate.[9]

Given standardization techniques and the likely passage of the active ingredient into the blood stream and relatively stable metabolism by the liver[9], one can estimate the oral dosage required to achieve the amount of active ingredient which will likely to be passed to the brain where it is thought the ATP availability in the hypothalamus regulates appetite[7].

Richard M. Goldfarb, MD, a doctor and medical director of Bucks County Clinical Research in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, claims to have conducted a preliminary efficacy study of Hoodia gordonii on seven people and reports to have found it effective.[citation needed] None of the findings were ever published in any peer-reviewed journal. Such information cannot be considered as evidence that hoodia is effective as a weight loss product.[10]

Other medical weight loss experts remain skeptical and do not recommend hoodia to obese patients. Adrienne Youdim, MD, medical director of the Comprehensive Weight Loss Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Michael Steelman, MD, chairman of the board of trustees for the American Society of Bariatric Physicians says "There is no [published scientific] data to support its use."[10] In addition, the FTC recommends against the use of such diet products marketed with exaggerated claims.[11]

Now, it HAS been proven that green tea can help boost a person's metabolism by about 3-4%.  And the mg dosage of green tea extract in a day's ration of the Slimquick pills is about 600mg, or the equivalent of about 2 - 3 cups of green tea.  So, it could very well be that the weight loss benefits of this slimquick pill is coming from the green tea extract.  It would be much cheaper to just buy some actual green tea and drink 2 - 3 cups of it a day.  I mean, in running the math, a one-month supply of Slimquick is about $56 plus shipping.  You can get a month's supply of green tea for probably around $5 bucks, if even that much.  I buy a lot of my green tea at the 99 cent store and I get 50 bags for 99 cents, so I pay about 2 bucks for a one-month supply.  Oh yeah, and I don't have to pay shipping either!

I just wanted to make sure people know there is such a thing as drinking too much water.  You can easily wash out your kidneys if you are drinking 3 liters or more of water/day.  In fact I learned this the hard way and got a talking to by my doctor when it turned out I was drinking 4-5 liters of water a day.  For safety I was limited to no more than 2.5 liters of liquids per day as the minerals in the actual kidney tissue were being depleted.
An important FYI for many dieters!

What is crucial is to space it out. Even 2.5 litres will harm you if drunk all at once, yet 4 litres is probably fine (and indeed recommended for someone doing lots of exercise and/or in a hot climate) the key things

1) space it out, say no more than a litre an hour

2) look into replacing your electrolites if you're sweating a lot (a commercial or home-made sports drink)
