So did it work for you? Was it effective?
Why did you try it in the first place?

Hmm. So you're not taking anything and just have coke to lose weight mentally. that's new.

Hahha! Be careful, there. Coke is addicting and not so safe to drink on a regular basis. In fact, I don't drink coke 'coz I am a little acidic. I prefer pepsi and other caffein-free soda which are less harsh in the stomach.
You're welcome.

| I lost 5 lbs in Sept with some weight loss herbs I bought in a kit. I drank Yerbe Mate tea, took 1-2 fiber pills a day and some cayenne and chickweed capsules. It really did help, but the tea had caffeine in it and if I drank too much I felt irritable so I cut back then forgot about it. Now my stomach has been sensitive lately and I am trying a new supplement so I don't want to be taking to much stuff to overload my stomach. I do beleive there are herbs and supplements that can boost a person along, but they still need to make changes in their lives.

It's interesting what people call a food supplement.
For years I have had a daily protein shake because I eat very little meat. Most people would call it a food supplement; I call it food.

i've taken supplements like chromium picolinate and some of the L- amino acids.
i lost weight but i was exercising and watching what i eat so who knows if even 1% of the loss is attributable to the supplements.
face it, most of this stuff, even vitamins, is seriously undertested in terms of its actual effectiveness.
notice how all the fine print always says "with an exercise program and sensible diet plan".
you can say that lawyers made them put that one there...and lawyers probably did...but that's because their lawyers have reason to believe they should be using that disclaimer.

| i tried to two types of diet supplement pills from a company that my mom used to work for. one was to speed the metabolism and the other one was like a fat blocker(i forgot the name though)i went from 178 to 165 in August 2006 (with proper diet(fat smash diet) and exercise(billys bootcamp)) and i havent gain or lost a pound since because i didnt feel like spending 63.50 a month. oh yeah the weightloss also helped me with a hypertension problem i was having since i was younger. my doctor said either lose the weight or im going to have to put you on some medication that helps control your blood pressure. i need to find a represntative that sells these products because you cant find them in retail stores.

| I used to take Stacker 2 and Metabolife when they had ephedra in them and I lost weight. The first time one helped me lose 7 pounds in 2 weeks until I ran out and the other helped me lose 26 pounds until I stopped taking them because the side effects were starting up after a few months. I wouldn't go back on them again because I know what they did to me and I'm not a fan of the feeling of being on it anymore. I'm taking Mega-T green tea pills right now because I've been kind of fatigued lately and I wanted an energy boost, but it's helped with my appetite which I'm surprised with because diet pills (without ephedra) never get rid of my hunger and usually make it worse. Anyway, I've lost a couple pounds since I started taking the Mega-T. I'm usually never on pills. Caffeine is NOT a friend of mine.

If you want any help in knowing what's in an herbal supplement, please ask. It is my field, and I don't mind answering. By law, I cannot diagnose (nor would I try) or prescribe (again, nor would I try).
Some supplements are safe and may have some effectiveness, though as with all drugs (sorry FDA, herbs are drugs), you have to be careful. Some are safe but not really effective, and some are down right dangerous.
I have no problem providing information, as it isn't diagnosing *or* prescribing.

I take am currently taking a system that involves drinking two meal shakes, and taking supplements. I have lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks. Its a great system but you do have to stick with it and you just can't eat fast food everyday! I would never get this much nutrients form the food I use to eat. I actually drink two glasses of milk a day and I never touched the stuff before. I don't count calories, I am not starving my body of nutrients, I am not hungry, I do not have the urge to eat, eat, eat, all of the time. I have so much more energy and believe it or not my skin and hair look better and I am not doing anything different in that area. You just have to find the right system for you.

Herbalife ROCKS. It is what I use also! So many people look down on herbal products, but these really work! I lost 30 without working out. After 30 pound gone I finally feel comfortable in my body and joined a gym! Now I really can't wait to see what kind of results I will have! manageyourbodystore.com

No one with any training will tell you herbs don't work. Those of us with a *lot* of training would be happy to make sure what you take don't cause problems with other stuff you take.

I have used Herbalife also. So far I have had great results, 40+ pounds in a little over three months. I use the shakes and I love the Total Control, and the herbal tea.

Hi - I'm new here today. I've had an ongoing battle with emotional eating all my life and since the menopause I am the most overweight I've ever been. I've always been averse to solving weight control by using herbs, drugs etc and preferred to do it by diet alone, but this time I decided to take it easy on myself and try them. Firstly I take a very good vitamin and mineral supplement and secondly, I'm using Xenical prescribed by my doctor, and I'm also using diet patches which contain >>
Fucus Vesiculosus Extract: 12mg
5 HTP: 12mg
Guarana: 9.6mg
Zinc Pyruvate: 3.6mg
Yerba Mate: 2.4mg
Lecithin: 2.4mg
Flaxseed Oil: 1.2mg
L-Carnitine: 1.2mg
Zinc Citrate: 1.2mg
Sweet Vanilla Aroma
I find the Xenical no problem at all, I am sticking to a low calorie diet, avoiding biscuits, cakes, chocolate etc because the diet patches are helping me to avoid those things and now when I eat I just can't eat as much as I used to because I feel full a lot sooner.
I find the patches a great support because when I do feel hungry and make a meal I put the same quantities on my plate as before, but halfway through eating I find I've had enough - and that really makes me feel good and to realise I'm also taking in less food and getting used to smaller portions. My portions are becoming gradually smaller and smaller. The patches also help with cravings, I just haven't had any.
I've lost 9lbs in 8 days and I've got lots more energy than I used to have. My house has never been so clean and just losing those few pounds has motivated me to keep on until I reach a sensible weight for my height and age. And I know I'm going to do that and that this time it will stay off.
What prompted me to use patches was because I had great success with Nicotine patches to stop smoking. I stopped in 3.5 weeks from being a 25 a day smoker.
I like the patches because I can just slap one on every morning and forget it. I'm not even concentrating on dieting, I just allow the patch to do it's work and psychologically I find that best for me. It takes the headache and stress out of slimming. That in itself is helpful.

Peter - what's the name of the protein shake you are taking and where can I get hold of it. I don't eat much meat and I often feel short of protein so a good supplement would benefit me a lot.

For years I used something called 95% Protein, a soy product I'd get at GNC. I used that to make my own shakes.
I more recently heard about the Slim Body Matrix Shakes from a forum member who loves them.

| I wanted to start losing weight not too long ago and to eat and live healthier, but I didn?óÔé¼Ôäót really have time to exercise much or make expensive, extra-healthy meals. About the same time I started working for a Public Relations company who was promoting this product called FBCx. They got tipped off on it from a reporter, met with the doctors who created it and fell in love. FBCx, pronounced F-bex, is all-natural dietary fiber that is able to bind dietary fat. You take it with your 3 regular meals and go on with your day losing weight and not feeling guilty about having a snack with your kids or an drink with co-workers. If you want to learn more, try it out for yourself or speak with the doctors who created FBCx, fbcx.com will let you do just that. Last edited on 10 Jul 2007 08:56 pm by

| Second time. I've been using this supplement called Glucomannan. It's a soluble fiber that is oderless and tasteless. It's suppose to make you full faster so you eat less. It's also doesn't give you gas or bloating. It's was wrote about in Womens Health magazine the January/ February issue to take with their diet. You pour two capsules on what your eating and makes you full faster. What the heck, with the fiber everything will come out faster.

I started weight loss supplements 4 months ago and have lost 55 pounds. I still have 30 more to go. They have changed my life. I feel great everyday. I have more energy, and I AM STILL GETTING USED TO THE COMPLIMENTS DAILY.

Many people who cut out some unnecessary foods, such as soda, really do loose those first pounds quickly. I have many friends that have tried this and it has worked for them. I recenly subscribed to the Apple Patch, which is now a pill, and I love it!!! A friend gave me some and I needed to get my own. It has the herb hoodia in it which really does work to supress the appetite. I suggest everyone tries it.
