just wondering, if there are any pills, not aimed towards reducing appetite.

Just to increase metabolism, or breaking down carbs better?!

I started Lipodrene today and it says it is for appetite control (though I'm not noticing it that much) and metabolic stimulation (which I am noticing).

its not about me liking it or not, the truth is truth, they are good in some ways, and bad in the worst ways, no pills come without side effects.

I bet your the kind of guy who avoids most medications as well. Am I right? Side Effects are - for the most part, unless otherwise stated, Rare- but they exist. Asprin thins your blood, and coupled with Caffein(sp) can DRASTICALLY increase weight loss, but not without risks.

Same thing goes with driving to work, you run the risk of being killed in your car / bike / etc.

There are some things in life you can do 100% safely, and some things that will always have risks and side effects, weight loss being one of them. But count the alternatives -  Damages knees from running and 'bouncing' such weight on your body from running? Increased blood pressure / risk of cancer from excess fatty cells? Exercise is VITAL, and so is proper diet, but...im willing to take the risk of the mild side effects if it helps. Its nothing that will kill me (if you dont monitor and dont abuse that is, anythings harmful if abused / taken in excess).:chicken:

You can definitely lose weight without pills...I've witnessed women go from over 400 pounds down to less than 200 without any pills at all (in fact, with the healthy diet and exercise, they were able to come off of prescriptions like blood pressure medications and such).

I know you're not going to listen to anyone because you're stubborn (just like me, just with the opposite mindset  ), and you're just going to take some pills anyway, but please be wary of anything marketed as "all natural."  Research the ingredients first because "all natural" doesn't mean safe--after all, poison ivy is all natural, but I would hope it would never be an ingredient in my body lotion

Oh, and over-the-counter diet pills are NOT regulated by the government like other medicines.  If you're going to take something, I highly suggest it be by a doctor's prescription so a professional can monitor you and catch any underlying syptoms you may not notice that may occur as a result of use.

haha, Im FAR ahead of you. I wouldnt ever take anything to hinder myself (I fight for sport, boxing)  but I do also know that Ephedra for instance is harmful ONLY if abused. The reason it was taken off the market was that there was NO warnings, and people downed 25 pills and had a heart attack. It goes hand in hand with asprin, if you take 25 asprin chances are your not gonna make it unscythed through it.

If you obey the warning lables, and dont abuse - and DO YOUR RESEARCH - your going to be safe. :chicken:

That's an aim rather than a statement, in my opinion.

One thing I have noticed since following the research on such things as exercise, dieting and pills/supplements is that the findings can be:
  1. contradictory
  2. inconclusive
  3. subject to change at short notice (when the next results are posted)
From all of which I conclude that it's not easy to be sure about research, except that much of it is sponsored by companies who sell goods such as pills and supplements.  While I'm sure that many are above reproach, I'm cynical enough (look at all the horror stories about things going wrong) to conclude that I would never gamble my health and well-being on latest research findings.

From my own observation, the vast majority of overweight people who manage to stay the course of eating and exercising correctly (another contentious area, however) achieve their aims without recourse to drugs, pills or other chemical enhancements.

The trick is to manage the mental side of things.   Unfortunately, most people dive into whatever latest fad diet is around, stick with it for a while, give in to the cravings they've built up and quit in despair.   That's why so many people are looking for diet pills etc.   It's a substitute for putting one's mind in order before tackling diet and exercise.

If they approach their aims correctly, human beings can achieve amazing things.   That wouldn't keep the diet and supplement industry in profit, though, so it won't be allowed to flourish.
