Hi,
I'm new to the board (please check out my post in
individuals->introductions for a brief history about me).
Thought i'd share my random experience of one particular type of diet pill with you all:
Now, this isn't a story advocating or slamming diet pills, simply informative.
A friend of mine got them from a friend of hers (typical), I believe they originated from somewhere in Japan. The language on the bottle wasn't perfect English and it was called something like "Fat Burner x 3". There was a picture of an attractive (albeit headless) skinny lady in a bikini on the bottle.
Anywho, I deduced these pills must be amphetamine based. As someone who has dabbled in drugs, the feeling they gave me could be described as "watered-down-speed". I had the odd heart palpitation, felt a bit "buzzy", breathing in felt pretty shaky and I kept unconsciously clenching my jaw and ending up with mild tension headaches.
The dose was to take 1 every few days, and if there were no side effects, upgrade to 2-3. As recommended by the 8 or so girls taking them, I started on 1 a day. Now, I handled it fine (the feeling I mean), but i noticed no real change in my appetite and I wasn't suddenly full of energy so after a month or so, i stopped taking them as the jaw clenching was really starting to irritate me. Also, I noticed if i drank on them the speedy-effect was more obvious and I didn't enjoy the feeling.
All in all if you come across these I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't lose any weight, or put any on when i stopped. All they really left me with were a bunch of headaches and one or two evenings of having a few too many to drink and embarrassing myself with a mild gurn.
Shona.
