Hi,
I'm new to your forum, but I was curious if anyone has tried this product? I'm currently working out on my treadmill and bike about 50 mins 5-6 days a week. I also weight lift for toning about 3 days a week. I'm trying to drop some stubborn pounds! I also watch what I eat by counting calories. I've been progressing well, but have reached a plateau! (about the last 3 weeks) I know (at least for myself) weight loss is not done quickly. So, I have been shooting for about 1 lb a week. But since I haven't lost any the last 3 weeks, I thought about trying a fat burner. I've tried a few in the past and they have made me sick, so I'm leary of just trying anything. But I was hoping since this is tea, that it would be enough to nudge me off of my plateau (and not make me sick). I have ordered it, but have not received it yet.
I have used your calorie calculators in the past, but only recently seen your discussion forum.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
CC

Hi,
I've had a lot of people read my post, but no replies ! But I've done some more reading about this tea, and I have been taking it for a little while now, and I have to say that I like it. I have had no bad side affects (all of the other supplements/ fat burners that I have tried have made me sick ). At first I was just drinking one cup a day, but I found another site that had information on the tea, and it said that you were supposed to drink it about 15 minutes before a meal with complex carbohydrates in it. It is supposed to help you digest these complex carbs so that they do not go directly to fat. So, I have been trying to drink it before dinner, since that is my largest meal.
I had been stuck on a weight and I have finally dropped off of my plateau! whether it was the tea, or I was pushing myself a little harder in my workouts, I don't know! But either way, it helped. I figure worse case, the tea is getting another 8oz of water in me! (drinking water is not my strong suit, but I am getting better!)
If anyone has any comments or has used this product, I would love to hear about it.
Thanks,
CC

Sorry no-one's answered your post... I'm just back from a vacation in Portugal, so that's my excuse!
I really can't believe that teas etc can have a significant effect on weight loss (I'd disagree if I sold any, probably)...
I'd be interested to know whether you changed anything else in your regime that would explain the end of the plateau.
You watch what you eat, but do you know how many calories you eat each day? And how many are carbs, protein and fat?
If I'd managed to answer you before now, I'd have suggested logging things for a week to ensure that you didn't eat too much fat.
Fat loss can swing up and down, but 3 weeks is a long time, if you were losing previously. Are you perhaps close to your goal? (It gets harder as you have less to lose). It would aid your progress greatly if you could monitor your body fat and not just your weight. Depending on your diet, you could have added some muscle, lost some fat and still weighed the same or nearly.

Hi Nevd,
I have been counting my calories since January. I started out with a calorie goal of 1791, but I changed that to 1680 around the first of March. I have a scale at home that shows weight and body fat %. I know I have seen some comments on this site that says they don't work, but it gives me a consistent way of making sure I'm not losing all of my muscle. I am 38, female, and 5'5" tall. When I started I was 155 lbs. and 36% body fat. Which is how I calculated my calories. I found multiple sites that had calculators, and I took the most average one. I put in to maintain 155 lbs "no exercise", so that if I had bad days, I still knew what calories to stay under. (I realize it was a maintain number, but that makes sense to me!) Then my goal was to be 500 calories a day under, whether thru my food calories or burning calories with exercise. I changed to 1680 because this is the calories it said I needed to maintain my goal weight (135 lbs). I have to admit I do most thru exercise, but I get one hundred or more sometimes thru food calories.
I currently am 145 lbs and 31% body fat. My goal is to get down to 135 and 25%.
I have set up a spread sheet and keep track of all of my food and calories, but I haven't been tracking protein, fat, or carbs with it. It would take a bit, but I could go back and figure out what that is.
I have bumped up my workout to around 700 calories instead of 500, which probably pushed me off of my plateau. I figured the next step would be to track the fat along with the calories. (20 % for fat, but what is a good protein #??)
I have exercised a lot in the past, so I have a good muscle base. After I had my son, I had been having trouble getting rid of the extra fat. This is the first time that I feel totally confident that I will reach my goal! Even before having my son, I was consistent at 140 lbs, but I hope to break thru that and get to 135!
I feel that the tea has helped a little. It may just be mental! But like I told my husband, if it does nothing else I'm getting an extra 8 oz of water a day! I've always said that there are only 3 ways weight comes off! (out the top, out the bottom, or sweating it off!) Not to get graphic, but I believe the tea helps "push things thru!". As long as its not making me throw up, I'm okay with it. I had just thought that others might have tried it out before.
Sorry, I didn't mean to go on so long. I hope I answered your questions. Any thoughts?
Regards,
CC

Good protein = anything over 20%. I aim for 30% but rarely get there, as I'm vegetarian. Didn't hinder weight loss, though.
Does any of your exercise include weights? I ask because when I finally lost body fat successfully, I couldn't run as I'd injured my Achilles tendons, so intensive weights was my only exercise outlet (apart from cycling everywhere). I was astonished at how quickly and consistently I managed to lose without ever having to run a step.
That's why I recommend alternating cardio days with weights days. Those resistance workouts just seem to kick the body into fat-burn mode. If you haven't tried it already, see if it makes a difference for you.

In the past, that was my workout! I have cut back to toning (light weight, high reps), and have added walking and some jogging on my treadmill and my exercise bike. I have been really stressing the walking & biking lately. I've gotten out of my routine with my weights! I need to get back to them.

I would also recommend that you supplement your fat monitor scales with a cheap skinfold calliper. It will help you target your final weight more accurately.
Those electronic scales are somewhat 'variable'. At a friend's house recently, I was encouraged to admire her new Tanita scale. It told me I was 23% body fat, which was a shock, since I'd been 9% just the day before.
Whatever had I been eating?

I don't know how accurate my Tanita scale is, but it's consistent when I use it first thing in the morning.
I used it when I was losing weight a year or so ago and it never jumped up and down... it went down as I improved.
Since I was building muscle at the same time, it was important not to go by weight. Body fat percent is the best measurement of progress.
Yes, calipers are better though.

I believe it's the case that people carrying a lot of excess weight (and especially females) tend to fluctuate considerably on volume of body water. And it's that water difference that causes the problems with electronic scales that use electrical impedance with which to measure body fat %.
The calliper checks one thing only - the width of a skinfold. Since that doesn't vary appreciably with body water retention, they are more accurate, as Peter concedes.
Obviously, my friend's scale was wildly 'out'. And it sounds like Peter's was pretty accurate (and repeatable). But they're not cheap - and it's a bit of a lottery whether you buy an accurate machine or not.
As I spray-painted on my bathroom wall just last night: CALLIPERS RULE OK...

Hello I just joined the forum yesterday:
I bought that tea ( wo-lang)and just received it yesterday, I have put on 10 lbs over the past 2 months probably because I decreased my workout, all I need is to loose those 10 lbs and I will be at my ideal weight,. Now I am back to the workout routine but I needed something to jump-start my weight loss. I used to have a great response to the xenadrine RF 1 the one with ephedra before it was banned. one to 2 tablets used to do the job a day, I was energetic, and my appetite was in control. I have to admit it took few days ( about 2-3 days) before it affected the appetite. It gave me some heart burn, but the end result was it really worked! Before it was banned ,I stocked up on an imitation also ephedra containing pill called maxadrine advertised as "if you liked Xenadrine RF1 try maxedrine"since the Xenadrine RF1 supply became scarce and the price became outrageous, but it is not as good as the xenadrine RF1. Again the brand names make a big difference.
After it was banned, I tried a bunch of other pills, nothing really worked the last one I was scammed into was Hoodia H57, oh boy, that increased my cravings for carbohydrates and food, made me so irritable and down. I have to watch out for the types of pills I purchase with ephedra since certain combinations I bought back in the good old ephedra Ok times caused me depression and marked irritability, 2 side effects I cannot afford.
I know that ephedra is now back in most states( the judgment was reversed) but again big companies that used the best methods in manufacturing it such as the one that used to make xenadrine RF1 stopped manufacturing it altogether..so u can't tell the quality you will be getting..
I tried prescription Meridia, Sometimes, it works ( I get the side effects. dry mouth, irregularity), and other times I feel like I have taken a placebo pill, I would not even get the dry mouth routine, I feel like some bottles are fake pills. but again nothing was like my Xenadrine RF1, it was the best, the other stuff they sell now is waste of money. Of all the things they would "ban" they picked something that proved to work and now opened the market for all the scammers to steal from us..
Now I am trying this tea, It looks tastes and smells a lot like black tea, and it comes in a bag with no labels or ingredients on it at all, fast delivery though..will it work, who knows.. today is my real first day trying it. I don't feel like I have a big jump in energy, my appetite is ok not as ravishing as when I went on that Hoodia H57 ( should rename it Hoaks 57) I will see after a week what happens and report . I will stick to my exercise routine, If my scale does not budge, then I will try their money back deal. I also am waiting for the Hoodia desert thing too bad I bought it before I read someone's review on this forum.. I see that it is a legitimate forum, there are too many "review " diet pills out there that require you to concentrate and analyze well because most of them are just pushing their own merchandise.
If these things continued to not work I will have to start looking overseas. They must have better alternatives out there at least they don't have the lawsuit happy problem which we do that turns everything upside down for all..

Yes tried wu-long tea .. It has been a week. I lost 1.5 lbs of my target 10 lbs..I believe mainly because I exercised 2 days and stopped eating late. I took it round the clock..the rest of the week I was sedentary ( as usual) but because I was studying.. not one pound less!!! no it does not flush out your fat.. does not curb the appetite either..perhaps it is a good anti-oxidant ? that I can't tell since my skin is one of the few good things I am blessed with..
if somebody tells you it was working it is as good as adding water to your diet or few cups of decent tea, yes that may give you a skin"glow" and flush down toxins..

| I am very happy to hear someone describe the problem with hoodia. I, too, believe it does raise appetite. It is a scam to keep people fat. If it does what it says it does, which I believe, then it inevitably will make you hungrier. It heightens the effect of insulin which lowers blood sugar, which everyone knows makes you hungrier. It is amazing how they claim it helps you lose weight by making insulin more effective at lowering blood sugar. Anyone can ask any doctor what the effect of lowered blood sugar is, hunger.

Hey! I'm a new member here .
I've been drinking Wu-long tea for about a month and I lost about 6 lbs with no excercise (busy with work)! I think it works pretty well and I like the taste. I would reccommend it to anyone.

I was wondering about this tea. I drink green tea at the moment but I see it advertised every where on the internet. I wasn't sure if it was another scam like Hoodia or not.

I wanted to comment on the Hoodia scam. It's a scam that companies sell products that contain too little Hoodia or maybe none. But the real product -- one of the VERY FEW products I sell on this website -- really works for most people. (And the company selling it offers a full refund if it doesn't work for you.)
I just didn't want anyone reading your post to misunderstand that all Hoodia was a scam. You just have to be careful -- as with everything.

Sorry about that. I was actually going to buy some not that long ago but I always do research on everything that has to do with dieting and every review I had read said it was a scam. I hadn't even noticed until after reading this post that banner where you were selling Hoodia...
If this stuff works I might try it then.

Well i know its a long time since the question was first asked but i thought i'd add my thoughts on this tea. I was a bit sceptical about it at first, but i'm willing to give anything a try, especially since stars such as opera, geri halliwell & victoria beckham are said to drink it ritually to aid their weight loss. I received it in the post this morning, having had to wait for it to be shipped from america to myself in England. I have drunk two cups so far & have noticed i get sharp pains in my head after i'v drunk it, i also feel queasy. At the moment i don't know if this will continue, & whether this is a side effect for myself. I tried to google it, but wu long tea apparently has no known side effects. As for whether it will aid my weight loss i'm yet to know. I imagine i will be disappointed as i think in my head i reckon i'm going to end up model thin just from drinking this tea, although i have been eating healthier too & i go to the gym once a week for a few hours. I'v also got a cross trainer at home i use occasionally. Since i have gotten a job in an office i have gone up from 126lbs to 156lbs, so i am hoping that i can shift this weight since i am only 18. I shall have to update once i have used the tea for long enough
toni.
