Hi there!
During my trip to the Vitamin Shoppe today I decided to get a bottle of Tonalin CLA.  I read an article on this supplement in my husbands Mens Fitness magazine recently and have read many other articles/studies over the last month or so.  I do not need to lose a ton of weight and already lead a pretty disciplined regime which includes 1 tsp. of flax oil w/lunch and 2 tsp. w/dinner.

My question is:  Is there anything/anyone out there that speaks to combining the two since they're both amino acids?  They both are required with meals too.

Thanks for your help!

You mean fatty acids. (amino acids are the building blocks of protein)

Not heard of CLA before. Most people who supplement with fat (including myself) go with fish oil capsules - health purist pragmatists go with plant-derived DHA (from algi).

My hunch is that there is nothing against combining them. (remember that both of these have calories and remember that the main determinant of your success remains a calorie deficit)

I do take flax seed oil (well, I eat it in the ground seed version, not the oil) but not Tonalin CLA...just IMO, Tonalin CLA always struck me as safe but too expensive to be worth the minor benefits.  I think that if you're giving it a try you might not want to combine it with the flax seed oil though...only because there's the possibity that if the suppliment works (by preventing the breakdown and absorbtion of fat) then it would diminish the benefits of the flax oil....so maybe you could try taking it with two meals (i.e. breakfast and a snack) where your fat sources are coming from saturated fat (i.e. dairy/meat) and not from a fat (flax seed oil) that you actually do want your body to absorb.
