Ok. I started out on the wrong foot. about january i began to eat as little as possible. i practically starved myself. i went from 240 to abou 225. i decided this was stupid of me so i began on the low carb diet. i tried not to eat a ton of bread and sugar. i went down to 215 which is my current weight. i play high school football and i get intense cardio every day. an average day for me would be
Breakfast: slim jim or some kind of meat
lunch: beef tips, rice, ham, green beans, something of that sort
supper: a burger with no bread, just a pattie, cheese, and maybe some bacon to top it off.
i drink no sodas just water. I drink about 2 liters of water a day to stay hydrated during football. I am still overweight and im dying to get down to about 180 or 190. I am 6 foot tall. im sorry for the sloppiness of my post but any help is apreciated. am i eating too little carbs and is my body storing the fat? should i eat more carbs? should i shock my system and eat sugar every now and then? what else can i do? i cant count callories because i have to eat school lunches. i am begging for any help, iv tried all all i know, right and wrong. im willing to try anything to lose these extra 2o pounds!!Last edited on 13 Sep 2011 11:31 pm by wareagle13

If you can't count you need to learn to estimate
At this point you need to be eating between 1500 and 1800 calories. Too little will stall your efforts (as you discovered by not eating) and too much will leave you where you are.
If you are going to split that evenly between three meals that'll be 500-600 calories you are aiming for. Probably the safest thing to do is to just have protein and fruits/vegetables at your lunch meal and 'call it 500' and then count calories when you are not in school.
Lack of grains (like rice, bread, pasta) does not halt fat loss.

| Are you able to take your own lunch to school? If so you could count the calories in your own prepared lunch.

I'm looking at your food choices and trying to read between the lines. Guessing by your screen name, you also live in Alabama and eat a traditional southern diet. There is nothing wrong with eating meat, God knows we love pork and beef, but when it comes down to the nutrition, it's got a heckuva lot of fat in it. And that's what I'm seeing in your diet- alot of fat. Losing the last 20 pounds is all about making drastic changes to what you are eating. In order to do it, you will need to eat mostly vegetables, and choose very lean cuts of meat. I'm talking chicken breast, fish, egg whites, and venison. I'll bet your burger patty is 30% fat. You'll need to cut out the bacon, the slim jims, the cheese. Cheese is 90% fat. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it's the truth. Our southern food is ridiculously high in fat and it shows on our bellies.
You get intense exercise and if you are trying to lose weight, you NEED LOTS OF PROTEIN in order to keep your muscle. Ask your mom to get you some whey protein and make shakes out of it. It's an awesome way to get good quality, inexpensive protein without all of the fat. You can get a huge tub of it at Walmart for less than $20.
You don't have to cut out all breads, but eat whole grains, lots of veggies, and if you get hungry and want a snack, reach for something with protein in it.
It is futile to try to lose weight by eating less of the same things that got you fat in the first place. This won't fill you up and you'll end up bingeing and overeating because you're hungry. It is possible to feel stuffed on way fewer calories, you just have to make the right choices in what you eat.

This is disturbing. Anything? Why not do the right thing?
Lose no more than 1 pound per 100 pounds of body weight per week. Do it by eating a balanced diet.
