Philippians 3:19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
Proverbs 23:20-21 Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.
Proverbs 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags.
Proverbs 23:2 And put a knife to your throat if you are given to appetite.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
Psalm 78:18 They tested God in their heart by demanding the food they craved.
Deuteronomy 21:20 And they shall say to the elders of his city, ?óÔé¼?£This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.?óÔé¼Ôäó
Philippians 3:18-19 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

I am not a Christian but I know that there is good advice to be found in the Bible. The Bible is quite clear on gluttony. Look how gluttony destroyed the Roman empire. The only difference between the US and ancient Rome is that we don't have vomitoriums. At least the Romans had the good sense to puke and their food orgies weren't everyday.
Proverbs 23:2
and put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.
Proverbs 23:20?é?á Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat,
Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.
Titus 1:12?é?á One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, ?óÔé¼?ôCretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.?óÔé¼?Ø
Long before the Bible Socrates said, "?óÔé¼?ôWorthless people live only to eat and drink; people of worth eat and drink only to live.?óÔé¼?Ø
?óÔé¼?ôGluttony is the source of all our infirmities and the fountain of all our diseases. As fire extinguished by an excess of fuel, so is the natural health of the body destroyed by an intemperate diet.?óÔé¼?Ø

Most atheists know that there is good advice in the Bible
Buddhism encourages avoidance of sensory excess. The third Buddhist precept is the avoidance of excess of sex, but many Buddhists interpret this precept as avoiding gluttony in all areas. Maybe that is why Asian women are so slender and ladylike.Last edited on 13 Aug 2011 12:16 pm by Nir

| I'm glad you can find something positive in scripture so now explain why you think scripture is wrong regarding gluttony. Last edited on 13 Aug 2011 12:18 pm by Nir

Excuse my history geek moment but I have to say this:
Vomitoriums were not for throwing up. They were passageways designed to let large amount of people in/out quickly.
" The vomitoria deposited mobs of people into their seats and afterward disgorged them with equal abruptness into the streets--whence, presumably, the name."

So they could puke.

I know that but that is the popular belief and the Romans did eat and barf so they could eat again. Today we call that bulimia.
