Do you have a special something that makes you feel really great about yourself and boosts your self-esteem?
I have these really great old fashioned pair of sun-glasses that some starlet like Audrey Hepburn would wear. Everytime I wear them I feel glamorous.

I love it. Great topic.
I've got a few. One when I make a girl laugh or smack my arm. Two when I'm working out and I see a vein pop out on my arm or I just look good. God I love those big mirrors. Three when I'm playing sports or some competitive activity like trivia and an answer or play is the reason my team wins. Four it probably the best one. Its when Im coaching middle school flag football and my team wins a close game or even better when I feel like they are better people at the end of the season than they were at the beginning of it.

I love when I look in a mirror and ask somebody else if it's a thinning mirror, and they say no, but I thought it was. That's a nice feeling.

My husband makes me feel great. Never ever said anything negative about my weight, still insists that I don't need to go to the gym, always greets me and says goodbye with a kiss, and never leaves the house or hangs up the phone without saying "I Love You."

When I do something physical I know I couldn't have done a year ago. High kicks, sustained squats, jogging a distance, and hey! Yesterday on the way home from work I stood on one foot while I tied the laces of the other! Yay for my improved balance! =D

When I hit an amazing shot in tennis. When I get a really good grade or a teacher mentions how well I'm doing in their class. And when I'm playing in band and hit every note in a song perfectly.

I feel great I can fit into stuff that hasn't fit in like 6 years. I wore a shirt last night that I haven't been able to wear with confidence since 2002. (It's a really short half-shirt thing).
I feel great when I cause car accidents from dudes being dumb and paying attention to me instead of the road. (Only done that twice, and they weren't big, horrible accidents, just fender benders).
I feel great when I run, swim, or carry something heavy

That's kind of funny and weird at the same time. The fact that you use accidents as plural because it has happened more than once. Good for you!

For me it is when I get up at 5:00am to go for a run and then go grab a Starbucks right afterwards. I am full of energy and it is so early in the morning that no one else is around. The roads are quiet and I can always get a great parking spot at Starbucks.
If i could I would do all of my grocery shopping at 6:00am when everyone else is asleep.

| oh yeah, the early morning is just awesome! I love it too. I have studied ayurvedic medicine, and according to that school of that, there is something in the air around dawn, I can't remember the name of it, but it's a sort of subtle and peaceful energy. The ayurvedics recommend always arising right around dawn and going outside to absorb some of that good energy.

I do the morning starbucks too, only & yes i know this is sad i probably do this around once a month.
I put on my highest heels & my cutest frock & do my makeup & hair nice & walk into the city (it only takes 5 minutes) like that to get my coffee & a paper then sit in the park & read for about 2 hours I call it a SATC day. Yes its all about attention grabbing & yes i love it!

Ok, I have a couple of things. One is this old robe of mine. It is made out of chenille and I love the way it feels. It's the first thing I grab to put on when I am blue.
My other thing is water. I know that sounds weird, but it's true, anything to do with water. Taking a shower, swimming, fishing, I love the smell of it, the sound of it. Just listening to the faucet run.
Neither of these things builds my self confidence, they are just two things that make me feel at peace with the world.

Her gay friend, the funny guy with red hair gets all upset at the end of the movie cuz he cant get the houseplant to stay alive? that has been me the last few years!!! But now, as of late, I have more houseplants than my mom!!!!!!! who is also a Rock Star when it comes to maintaining healthy plants! little things make me feel good!

Well, at least you could do that. I can't even motivate myself to exercise. I don't know what my problem is. I went and got my workout cloths, but just couldn't make myself put them on.
Oh well, I guess it is the holidays and I should give myself a break...

What a refreshing topic... ...so takes it away from food/calories and everything negative associated with eating.
I feel GREAT when I make someone smile/laugh. I feel GREAT when i've done something well and get the recognition for it...I feel GREAT when I've struggled with something and got there in the end.

Yes, seeing my hard work paying off on the scales makes me feel great.
Saying no to something unhealthy and seeing other overweight people say yes makes me feel good.
Making someone laugh with a clever joke makes me feel amazing. Or laughing so hard it makes others laugh with me. Making my mother laugh when I know none of those old boring people at her workplace have made her laugh that day yet :)

| This is a great topic! Sometimes we need to remember what makes us happy and feel great. With all the negative things that run around in our heads, we need to count our blessings. What makes me happy is when another teacher really likes my idea and wants to use it in her/his classroom. Also, I love it when a student is frustrated and I can help them break through it. I love that light bulb effect. Finishing a book really makes me feel great too.

| All of your posts are truly inspiring. Its amazing to see how different everybody is and what makes him or her feel great. The jewelry that I personally have collectively holds a special place in my heart, for a wide range of reasons. It?óÔé¼Ôäós not the materialistic aspect of owning jewelry, it?óÔé¼Ôäós that most of it was bought at a special occasion to commemorate something major in my life. It serves as a great reminder of accomplishments and happy moments throughout the years. This past month I reached my weight loss goal (at last!); I made a pact with myself that if I was successful, I'd treat myself to a piece of jewelry. I did a ton of online research to get information on what kind of piece I wanted and I kept ending up at JIC's (Jewelry Information Center) website, http://www.jic.org. It's a great resource to know about because it provides consumers with pretty much all the information they need on jewelry care, trends, shopping tips, etc. It was VERY helpful for me to figure out what I wanted to get myself. JIC also has a section where users can submit their personal stories on what brought them to buy their given pieces of jewelry. There's everything on there from graduation gifts, birthday presents, and engagement stories. I've submitted my own story in hopes to inspire others - and I'd highly recommend submitting your own if you'd like to share! All the best!

i havent posted here lately been tied up with stressing things, but i had a comment the other day given to D my hubby about me......His coworker B is a taller broader female, makes me look tiny......i was at his work on friday and we passed casually. Later that nite, D shared with me that she noticed that I am really working hard and i have totally gotten smaller and she would have to ask me what i am doing to make it happen! She said I looked really great! :)
Yay for me.. :) Thanks B!!! You made my day! I was kinda "off" that day too, so it kinda made me smile...just not at that exact moment, i was kinda like..na ahhh she didnt say that........really??? how cool.... :) I am still kinda swimmin in my own little river of "de nial" about my 22 pounds lost since Thanksgiving! :)

I kinda experienced "awesome hair" this weekend. I have just beyond shoulder length with tempermental natural curls, some days nice and loopy spirals, other days its a taad frizzy. This weekend, it was just lovely. I had the long stretched out loopy curls that stay intact even after being put into a high ponytail...in fact it was even better after taking out. I love the luxurious big glamour curls, and this weekend I had them.
Now, if I can just master how I made them occur to duplicate??
I also got a comment from my husband about my arse, he said it is Absolutely Perfect and Perfectly shaped and lovely to hold....LOL.......men, gotta love em! And I do love him! He sees perfection in me, even on my WORST days...

Hearing my hubby tell me how gorgeous i am when i am standing at the stove cooking dinner, my hair is disheveled and i feel a mess from a long days work at the castle.

being told by my dr yesterday how great i look as soon as she saw me! Hearing her excitement in her voice when she asked what i am doing and listening to myself share with her my efforts and challenges. She kept telling me how wonderful i looked, how you can really see the difference even if I DONT SEE IT? She said "Trust me, you look fantastic, wonderful, great!" and gave me a hug.

I did look at the website for a short time. I didn't see anything wrong with it or that it was selling anything. But, I was not there for very long.
I guess I don't understand why all your post on here are about that site and the same thing if you are not trying to make some sort of buck off people trying to lose weight.
That may not be the case.....just calling it like I see it...

My things that make me feel great in general:
- When I score under par for a round of golf.
- When I know that my dog had a really great day because of me. (he loves to ride in the car, and go for walks, and get some good people food along the way)
- When I'm in the middle of a really great movie or show (the kind you never want to end)
- When I get a compliment. It is a rare event, but never forgotten.
With respect to my diet:
- When I stand on one leg and put my sock on. (previously coudn't do that becuase of weight/balance/agility)
- When I am able to wear something out of my closet that distinctly did not fit at all just a couple months ago.
- When I've completed my cardio session (after my weights session) and I am completely soaked with accomplishment. That drive home feels really good.
- Going to bed at night knowing I did everything perfect for that day.
