Why do you want to lose weight?

it is not about losing weight, but it is more about staying fit and neat.

staying fit and neat also enables you to live a healthier life, you can walk fast. you can run a mile. you can add more speed to your activity.

My reasons are all vanity related. I always wanted to be skinny or at least much thinner than what I am now since I was about 11 and started to become more "womanly." I like the thin aesthetic and like thin bodies. I personally think I look better at a thinner weight. I also want to lose weight to impress someone I am interested in. I know it's ridiculous to base everything with looks but looks is how people get attracted to someone else in the first place.

With that said, I also want to experiences more and get into better shape through toning once I reach my goal weight. I will feel more confident being thinner at the gym working out as oppose to how I look and feel now.

I started my weight loss, fat loss and wellbeing journey 2 years ago ..
I was reaching my 30th birthday and I just simple had a semi breakdown and had to do something with my life and didn't like the way I felt, looked or thought...I mean I was anxious, I was overweight, I was insecure and it was incredible embarrassing looking at my self naked in the mirror ...

These were my stats 2 years ago rem I'm 5ft 7

192lbs
36inch waist
35% body fat
Love handles
Double Chin
No self esteem
Lack of Confidence
No partner
Lack of will power
Skin disorders

The list could go on but I may bore you ..

Basically I simple got honest with myself I did some soul searching ..Got upset at myself a few times for letting myself go and disrespecting myself and not looking after the greatest gift that was given to me and that was ME , MY BODY, MIND & SOUL..

I wanted not just a mind-set change but a tangible change ..now I was in pretty bad shape and had lots of distraction I looked to food for comfort all the time as I found drugs and alcohol was linked to too much pain. Plus my parents owned a Chinese take away ..so food was easy to come by ...and I loved my KFC'S & McDonald's..

Cut the long story short I decided to change ..WHY ..cos I wanted more from life I was sick of feeling horrible in my own body that I neglected for so long, I was sick not feeling good and I wanted more from my life so I demanded more from myself...

My stats now 2013 are ..rem I'm still 5ft 7 ha ha

140lbs
10% body fat
six pack
I can now do chin ups
i'm grounded
I can fit into slim fitted clothes
I like my naked body
Skin rashes gone
confidence levels rocketed
Got a Fiance

I even completed Tough Mudder in Yorkshire two days ago and that was meant to be the toughest in UK of 2013 ..

2 years ago I would not dare to do anything like that ..but life is for growing and overcoming your fears ....I realise weight loss , fitness and wellbeing wasn't just about looking good and fitting into my slim fitted jeans and tops but more about my stance on life ..which is ..I will take responsibility and decide HOW I'm GOING TO LIVE MY LIFE .....AND I WANT TO ..

LOVE MORE
BE MORE
AND GIVE MORE ....

Serious if a Chinese guy from a take away can do it so can you :smile::smile:

Your story is inspirational! Thanks for sharing. We all need positive reinforcement to remind us whee our goals are every once in a while.

After reading most of the responses on this thread on thing stands out and that is the excessive use of personal pronouns.

I know why fat people do that. Do you? Would anyone like it explained how it is related to your obesity?
