Hi guys, just thought I would stop by and see how things were going. Since I've retired I am like crazy busy it seems and I haven't been on this site much at all.
Just got back from Mexico and really going to try and stay on track with the food. My weight is up again and I need to get on track now.

I was wondering where you were. I think Anne is in Hawaii now. Not sure though. I'm not going anywhere. 
I haven't been good but I am trying to get in more walking each day. Did pretty good last week. This is a new week. Eating has been good 70% of the time. The other 30% hasn't been.
We still have painting to do in the room where the floor was laid so we'll get that done in a couple of weeks. I want to be finished by Thanksgiving.
It was cold over the weekend in the AM so I enjoyed a fire Saturday morning. Looks like the cold weather is finally here.

Yes, we are in Hawaii; today was our second full day. I have not been to Oahu in I think over 20 years. We go to other islands but wanted to see Pearl Harbor. Wow, is it ever crowded compared to when we were last here. We did go to Pearl Harbor today and it was very good. It was not overly crowded (big surprise) and the Park Service has done a wonderful job of exhibits and communicating what happened. Plus, the memorial was a great tribute. My dad got some special treatment for being a WWII vet.
Tomorrow we go to the Polynesian Cultural Center - never been there either. I tend not to like things that are not 100% natural, but I thought my dad would enjoy getting an overview of the various island cultures. Then we are staying for the evening show which is supposed to be good.
I need to get a handle on eating myself. I've been pretty much doing whatever - which is too much!

Yeah, we're painting after the floor. We really needed to see what color would go best since we've had neutral colors forever. We'll be very careful.

I thought I'd check in on you guys and say "Aloha"! What's been going on with you?
We have been having a very relaxing time - taking some walks, sitting by the pool, watching the surf, eating too many macadamia nuts (that's me). Today we are getting some misty rain and it's cloudy. That's OK as long as it does not stay this way for too long. I'm just enjoying sitting here and doing some reading.

Nothing relaxing here. We painted over the weekend. Worked through lunch Saturday and didn't eat. We went out that night and made up for it.

Anne, you lucky duck...Hawaii is such a wonderful, relaxing place. Enjoy every minute.
Bert, so what color did you pick? I love extremes, my rooms are either white or very vibrant colors such as my office which is Crayola purple or my bathroom which is bumble gum pink. No in between for me.
Oh BTW, I have been missing in action so much I never got around to telling you guys what I did.... I put a huge purple streak in my hair. I just felt like it so I did it, next time I will have to go a little lighter though so it will show more.

Just posting to make sure everything is working. I am excited about getting back on line with you Spices!
Fran, I totally missed your post about the purple streak in your hair - yikes! No, I will not be doing any colored streaks!
I think Fran's idea of setting some goals is a good one, although I am worried about my track record of doing so poorly losing weight. How about interim goals - like 10 lbs to start?
