Hey everybody!

I am a 25yo mom of three working from home and now enrolled in online schooling to obtain my Business Accounting degree! Working at home as a transcriptionist means spending the vast majority of every day on my butt, which has grown along with my business over the last four years lol

I need to have some partners who are willing to stick with me through this weight loss journey. I am 210 right now and at my lowest want to get down to 140, 145. I'd really, REALLY like to be at 190 by Christmas.

I am starting my diet tomorrow, Sunday, September 2, 2012. The first week, to jump kick the diet and weight loss, I am doing the cabbage soup diet. Sounds like a lot of fun to me :) After that I will switch to the atkins diet.

I am not going to take any weight loss pills or energy supplements or anything like that. I am just trying to be honest about my dieting and exercise.

Starting week 2 of diet I am going to start Zumba! I love that program :) It is 20 minutes and a pretty good workout.

Anyway, I'm not expecting my partners to do the same diet and exercise I am. I just need someone or a few people who are going to post on here once a day/every other day to share with progress, diet breaking, emotional stress of dieting and so on. I will probably be posting once a day in the beginning and then as things get more stable further into my diet progress, I will switch to three times a week.

I'm really excited and hope I hear fromm some buddies soon! Good luck to everyone on your journey to health and fitness!!

Hi Jessica- I've been reading alot of posts and not felt that connected to any so far to want to reply. Your thread appealed to me even though our age difference is quit a bit. I am a young 55 (ha,ha) and am not sure how much I need to loose but its most likely 100lbs. That sounds daunting, so I'm not looking at the big picture as of yet. I too have a goal for Christmas.
You mentioned many things that just made me feel a bit more connected.
One is that you are not interested in using pills. I'm not at all interested in anything but my making a lifestyle change without the aid of pills.
I've been watching what I eat for about 10 days. I'm not in a good routine yet but every day I make the choice to continue and to be aware of what I eat by making choices that are healthy.
I want to exercise, but have not gotten in to a routine with that either. I've an elliptical and have only made the effort twice so far. I am certain it will come, just have not made the committment to routine yet.

I also have an end of the year goal. I would like to loose 70 lbs by end of the year, but am thinking that 50 might be more realistic. But? due to my being so overweight I'm hoping I loose more then the 2 lbs a week doc recommends. So if I loose 50lb I will be happy and then set the other 50 for summer.

I work full time, am married, just hubby and I under the same roof with a Golden Retriever who is our very spoiled child.

Hubby has done Cabbage soup diet. I will admit, it seemed to be a good jump start for him. Me? on the otherhand has grown to hate the smell of it cooking in the house. He is not doing it any longer. Yeah for me.

Have the Zumba video, I found myself often with two left feet. So maybe you can convince me it IS possible to move like they do on the video and I will break it out again and try.

I asked my GP to get me hooked up with a nutritionist. Some for me to learn more about food and some to hold me responsible. So I have had one appt. with the doc. He has me on no particular diet, just calories and portion control, which we've determined would be a good start for me. Basically choosing correct foods and eating more veggies and fruit. I'm good to my word that I will make the appts.(it was my idea)I wanted to have a monthly checkup with nutritionist. Kind of hold myself accountable type thing.
I weighed at docs but did not check with my own scale at home to see if they were close. Hmmm? my scale had to be dusted off, so my confidence in it reading correctly is questionable. I will know more when I go back to the docs and compare both scales on the 21st. But I think I've lost some.
Right now it is one day at a time. Not a struggle. I've only been hungry when I was not prepared. If anything I probably have not eaten enough.

Are you doing the Cabbage soup with the Liptons Beef? Hubby liked the Lipton beef soup version.

Are you just starting school or have some credits already?

Well, if I were at your home, would I smell that darn awful smell of Cabbage soup? Sorry, that probably wasn't supportive. How bout I just say I hope you started your diet and that it worked as it did for my hubby while he was eating the soup.

Look forward to seeing how you are doing and others if they decide to join your thread.

Hi Sheldon!

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. The notice was sent to my spam folder, go figure. Anyway, I'm here! I did not get started yesterday, unfortunately, but am going full force today.

The cabbage soup was made already, so don't have a yucky smell in the house. I will admit that the only thing extra I am doing off the diet is coffee. I have half a bottle of creamer left and can't stand the thought of dumping it down the drain lol So it'll take a couple days, but it'll be gone eventually.

Zumba is definitely doable! And you can do it! I make sure there are no mirrors around to see myself in while I do it. While at one time in my younger and thinner life I would have counted myself as a great dancer, I don't think that is the case any more lol It doesn't really matter though if you are really good, just the movement and focus on what parts of your body that you are working will be beneficial :)

Are you saying you want to lose 50 pounds in four months? That's a very ambitious goal! I am just going to try to lose 22 pounds by Christmas.

Looking forward to sharing success stories with you, Sheldon!

Glad to hear the soup is made. I actually liked the taste of it. Are you doing that for a jump start or something to mark the moment . . . so to speak?

Yeah 50lbs. before end of the year would be ambitious. I'm really thinking 10lbs a month, which in itself is ambitious but I'm counting on that I need to loose SO much that the first 25-35lbs will come off quickly. But if it doesn't, I'm okay with that too. As long as the scale goes down.

I'm doing a food journal that I am accountable for when going back to nutrionist. It will help me clear up questions I have in choices, as I make notes on the pages.
It also is a reminder of HOW MUCH I really ate throughout the day.
But most importantly I am noticing that I seem to pause at everything I want to eat. Should I eat this? or is there a better choice? . . .that sort of thing.

I went shopping today and again did not prepare. I had my water but wanted to stop and get something quick to eat as I was out longer then I expected. A normal lunch break might be a 1/4lb burger, fries and strawberry lemonade from McDonalds. The lemonade itself is about 300 calories so I imagine the whole meal would be about 900. Because I don't know what to get I went for a hot pretzel, nothing on it. I think that is about 300 calories but fat free. I wasn't pleased with myself for not planning but at least I didn't stop for the burger and fries.

I need to plan better.

Are you going to be cooking differently for family or is all going on the healthy food method?
Your goal of 22lbs is very reasonable, I'm looking forward to hearing how things are going.

Well, if I stick with the dieting I'm sure I'll lose more than 22 pounds by Christmas, but given my history, 22 pounds is pretty realistic lol

I am the only one dieting. After the Cabbage Soup diet this week I will move on to atkins dieting, which has always been extremely effective for me. I usually lose about 10 pounds in two weeks from it and then anywhere from 2 to five in subsequent weeks :)

How often are you weighing? Hopefully you and I both will be determined enough to make this weight loss happen.

I'm trying to incorporate more fish into the diet. Cooked my very first wild Salmon fillets. Turned out good. I'll do good. Good flavor.

Cannot find my Zumba kit. I remember wanting to give it away to a friend but I am certain I never did. Hmmm? its somewhere I would not normally put. If anything, I'm getting a workout trying to locate, ha,ha.

Hi there! Im a university student aged 23 years old. i used to be so fat till everywhere i go i feel embaressed to even go out or to take pictures. ill be hiding at one corner. they don't have my size in most of the stores and the ones i got will show that my stomach is bulging out. i used to starve myself and take extreme diet measurements but nothing worked so far. i'm 5'4 and was 200pound. I'm staying in asia country, where everyone appear small and i appear gigantic for some obvious reasons. So, a year back i made my move. i targetted to lose up to 70 pounds to weigh around 125pounds. I started to jog and cut down my rice, white bread, pasta intake and became a full time lacto-ovovegetarian. I jog every morning for at least 30minutes non stop (it was hard at 1st, but later on it got easier) and i lost around 35pounds. Now, i started a new training programme which i downloaded from team beachbody.com, and regularly do aerobic for 1hour, jog for 30 minutes and come back and do abs exercise every day. so far, ive lost up to 45pounds in total. i know its kinda slow, but its kinda hard for me to lose weight despite all the hardwork im putting in. but im not giving up just yet, my stomach is no longer bulging out ugly, and i fit into smaller sizes, and my waist size dropped from 39inch to 32 inch. i still have another 30pounds to lose. i hope someone here can help to motivate me and guide me through as i do to them as well. Good luck, and lets strive to look good!! ^^

hi ladies, I too have been looking for a diet buddy but no replies. I dont have that much weight to lose but my problem is lack of motivation and being lazy. I want to look toned but dont have it in me to exercise everyday, i?é??ll have a good week and then 2 bad weeks. Plus my diet is quite bad as I snack an awfull lot and have a lot of "easy" meals, something quick, which normally isn?é??t the healthiest option.

how are you motivating eachother to exercise? maybe you should join the weekly exercise challenge or the weight loss challenge.
I?é??m quite fed up because where I live I don?é??t have any friends and nobody to push me.
