Hello everyone! I am new here, just found this site today! I think it is GREAT!! :tongue: I am a 33 year old Mom of two struggling with my weight. My parents are both overweight; Mom diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about 6 months or so ago, and Dad just told he is near Diabetic just last week... I was heavier as a child, but once I grew up and moved away from home, I managed to overcome that problem, and maintain a healthy body for a long time. But, since my youngest was born (she's 3 1/2 now) I have become less active, and gained a LOT of weight!!

I just recently decided that I have to stop procrastinating, and do something about this, before it's too late for me!! I have tried to lose weight in the past, although never as hard as I should have. I have decided to take a different route this time, and have elected to "share" my mission with the world, so to speak--I created a blog about it, and have been looking for groups to get into to share my experiences, etc as well.

I guess I just feel like if I am sharing this part of my life, and making it public, I may be able to stay more focused, and be more successful this time around. I think that when you are doing it alone, it is too eeasy to "fake it", you know? It's hard to express, I guess, but I know that I can convince myself that a few minutes here or there on th treadmill is enough, or that not eating this or that is enough--but we all know that it isn't. So, I built the blog, and am recording everything I eat and drink, every minute of exercise I do, etc. I know it may sound strange, but maybe strange is what i need here!!

SO, long story short, I just want to find some "buddies", or support system--someone to give me feedback, etc. And, I hope maybe I can find that here!
